"Treats u like u are a waste of his time."
"just wanted to express that I feel like my gyn pain was not taken seriously, leading up to me being in the hospital. I had expressed that it was the worst pain in my life. My quality of life had diminished to zero, and just because I am not dying, doesn't mean I am able to live. I have been suffering with constant bleeding for over a decade. The only time I had pain, was when I took birth control. The estrogen makes my endometriosis worsen and causes pain. It was patronizing for hospital staff to dismiss my concern. A self proclaimed "over educated" doctor (one of Dr.Wyckoff's colleagues) said that all my pain was from diverticulosis and completely unrelated to birth control. Seriously!? So I had 2 months of pain starting the exact same day I started birth control, & you're saying it was diverticulosis? I understand that I am a complicated case, but that doesn't mean I don't need to be taken seriously. He seems to want to have me waste time proving that I need a hysterectomy. I can't keep missing work, and waiting for my bleeding to cease. Luckily, my old doctor is practicing privately again. He knows I no longer want children, and has agreed to help me quickly, so I can start having a life. I would advise you to not take the typical textbook approach, when it comes to complicated cases. UF should be cutting edge. I am shocked at the unwillingness to be proactive or inquisitive. Evidently, restoring quality of life in a timely manner is not a priority to the team. I'm disappointed..."
"I was originally suppose to see a Doctor at the Tallahassee Cancer Center. There Dr. Ellison was awful. She didn't take the time to review all my pictures and my case and wanted to remove a rather large fibroid and my uterus even after my OBGYN said he believed it could be saved. I got a second opinion from Dr. Wyckoff and it was like night and day! Not only was he polite and understanding. I personally felt like he understood exactly what I wanted and that he has my best interest in mind. I felt very comfortable with him from the beginning and he explained all the possible outcomes and what to expect with the procedure. I am scheduled to have surgery in a few weeks and regardless of the out come, if my uterus could be saved or not, I can say with confidence that I trust him in his decisions and his abilities of being a good doctor who cares for his patients."
