"A shopping cart or careless driver put a minor scratch in our new Honda. The repairs centers in this region are booked for three to four months, don't need the business and give quotes over $1,*** up to and surpassing $1,***. The tales of the incredible work they have to do to restore this very minor scratch are worthy of Ripley's, "Believe it or not". As a teenager 60-years ago I could have repaired this myself with a couple of hours on Saturday and Sunday -- todays space-age paint gives these repair companies with too much of a "license-to-steal". I called my Allstate agent and she said that their claims department would take care of everything with a phone call. That I have the premium plan and my rates would not go up and that I had accumulated points so there would be no deductible -- what's not to like? I will stay with Allstate for the foreseeable future."
