"BEFORE YOU SIGN UP with Train.Fight.Win, there are a few things you might want to know about membership, some things that are left unclear and others that are hard to find out - things I wish I would've known before I signed up for a month's trial. 1. The 'free first day' is only truly free if, after trying the classes, you walk out the door without signing up for a membership. If you do sign up, you will pay one way or another: either through the first-time sign-up fee or the extra month you pay for because you didn't know there is a 30-day-prior cancellation policy. 2. The special promotions are not as good as they sound. For example, I was told that for "the next couple of weeks", I could get my first month for 'half' the regular price of $135. To my mind, that meant $67.50. But no, what I actually paid for the first month was $115.56. That is $67.50 plus a $40 sign-up fee plus tax. That is only 14% percent off the regular price, not half. 3. You are entering into a legally binding contract when you sign-up with TFW. The whole process of signing up took less than five minutes: entering basic information, scrolling over some fine print legalese (the contract) and signing electronically. I paid and was asked if I wanted a copy of my receipt. No mention was made of a contract/agreement, nor was any opportunity offered to receive an electronic or print copy of the contract. 4. Your contract is technically between you and TFW, but TFW has contracted with a company called Member Solutions to handle membership management and customer service. Member Solutions will go to great lengths to prevent you from ever seeing the contract you signed. It was only after multiple emails, multiple phone calls, and pressuring their customer service reps that I finally got an electronic copy, and that was after being told contradictory information, like: "the contract is held in archives," "it takes 2-3 business days to receive it once requested", "it takes up to 30 days to receive it," etc. 5. To cancel your membership at any time, you MUST give written notice to Member Solutions 30 DAYS before the cancellation goes into effect. Practically, this means that you cannot sign up for just one month, unless you literally sign up and request to cancel on the same day, which is absurd. That is, when you sign a membership agreement, you are going to pay for a minimum of two months. For me, this has meant that whereas I thought I was going to try the gym out for around $70, I have now paid $260.69. 6. Regular price for a single adult is advertised as $135 per month. With "applicable taxes", though, it's actually $145.13. 7. Member Solutions is EXTREMELY unpleasant to deal with, not because they are a billing company per se, but because their customer service reps will lie to you, gaslight you, and obstruct your attempts to get basic information about your membership. 8. If you decide to join this gym, read the fine print and get a copy of your contract before walking out the door. In the contract that you sign, it says, "I have read and understood this entire Agreement...and I acknowledge I have received a copy of this Agreement." Don't be like me and not read it in the first place and walk out without a copy in hand. You might end up regretting it. 9. In summary, both Train.Fight.Win and Member Solutions seem to have a vested interested in you not knowing what you are paying for and what the legal nature of your agreement is. This may be an efficient way to make money, but it's also a dishonest way and certainly not the only way and is one of the reasons I'll never go back to that gym nor recommend it to anyone, unless there are attempts to make things more transparent. All that said, the assistant coaches I had during the two newbie classes I attended were superb - no complaints there. Two stars off in this review are for the shadiness surrounding membership management and the unfortunate situation of TFW doing business with a company as despicable as Member Solutions."
"Yes, my experience was great. I had lots of fun. The students were more than welcoming in the teachers and coaches were even better. They were more inviting than I ever thought they would be for a first time, and I had a great learning experience, and felt like I could progress with the class as I went, I felt very welcomed if I could take a second day (free) I definitely would. But that’s not saying it’s worth it cuz to me IT DEFINITELY IS. I definitely suggest trying it out. First ever gym like this and I think if I was to have a membership at one of these MMA gyms I’ll never go to a different one, first and best HERE. Thank You."
"The free day went well, felt very welcomed the facility is great and coach Eric walked me through the workouts to get comfortable with them. The experience went so well decided I had to sign up and keep going to the classes."
"Great gym! very knowledgable coaches, tons of mat space, full cage, and lots of bags and pads. Very good monthly price as well. Equipment rental available."
"To say I miss this gym is an understatement. The coaches are fantastic, the monthly rates are beyond reasonable, and there is a sense of comradely behavior that doesn’t exist in many other places. I can’t recommend this place enough—it’ll be a great workout every class and you’ll begin to refine your techniques at an exponential rate."
