"I am so incredibly disappointed. I had such high expectations coming here because I’ve been a patient of Dr.Hoover’s forever and she recently opened this pediatric facility, but I had such a bad experience here. First, we were one of the only patients there and took over half an hour to be seen. My son was diagnosed with a double ear infection the week prior and I couldn’t control the fever so brought him in. While informing the doctor about my sons autism diagnosis he proceeded to tell me that my son wasn’t autistic because he speaks and if he was autistic that he wouldn’t be able to check his ears because autistic patients don’t sit still or allow it. I also informed him of my sons eating habits because his diet is very limited due to sensitivity issues therefore the majority of his protein is from Pediasure. He told me to stop giving him Pediasure to get him used to eating. When I explained that its his main form protein that they are working on picky eating at his intensive ABA therapy five days a week, five hours a day, he went on to explain that kids are babied at ABA therapy- when it’s the complete opposite. Their end goal at ABA therapy is to make kids as independent as possible. He’s a very dated doctor that doesn’t adapt to special needs patients or understand that special needs includes a spectrum- one autistic kids is not the same as another autistic kid."
