"Dr Escoffery was a very sweet and gentle man. He was very knowledgeable as a doctor and never beataround the Bush about what he could and would not feel comfortable prescribing for his patients. He always gave all of himself to his work and patients and worked even when the power cut out for s day. He made it work and still saw every patient in his office. He dedicated himself wholly to his work with little regard for his own health. I was so sad to hear of his passing. He was a great man and he will be missed"
"Complete waste of time and money. After arriving 15 minutes prior to my scheduled appointment time, I ended up sitting in the lobby watching patient after patient who arrived well after myself be called back to see Dr. Escoffrey. I finally asked his receptionist what was going on and I was somewhat rudely informed that he sometimes prefers to get completely caught up with established patients before seeing new patients to prevent those patients from being inconvenienced by the time it can sometimes take to see a new patient for the first time. If this were the case, why schedule my initial appointment right in the middle of all of his established payients appointments causing me to just sit there for an extended period of time?! Then when I finally do see the doctor, I told him that I had just ran out of the antidepressant I had been on for the past 6 months and asked him about continuing the medication because as it seemed to be working for me. He told me that I would need to make an appointment with a psychiatrist, which I don't understand because I know plenty of people that are prescribed antidepressants by their general practitioner. Not only was he not willing to prescribe it, when I asked him for a referral to one that he would recommend, he told me to "just pick one myself". The next issue I brought up was the dependence I had developed on prescription pain medication. When I inquired about local Suboxone doctors, he told me to just go to the Methadone Clinic. I have known a few people who have gone that route for treatment of opiod dependency and I have heard nothing but horror stories regarding the effects of Methadone on the body and how difficult it is to ever wein off of. Not to mention that the use of Methadone these days is becoming a thing of the past with the introduction of Suboxone and other buphenorphine medications and this guy is literally trying to send me to the Methadone Clinic even though I have a private health insurance plan. So that pretty much sealed the deal that I would not be coming back for a second appointment but if there was a glimmer of a chance that I might consider it, that chance was squashed for good when I asked for a reciept for my copay that I paid in cash. Apparently the receptionist had already closed out the program when I requested the receipt while still standing at the counter where she was stationed because she proceeded to make it abundantly clear that I was inconveniencing her by my request and that it was going to take her a while to accomplish what I had requested so I may as well go have a seat. So yeah, I said screw it and walked out...."
"Waited in the waiting room for 2 hours to be seen with my child. The lady who did vitals didn’t even take my blood pressure correctly and it read high, got home took it correctly it was normal. We have waited 2 months for them to correctly put in referrals and still yet have. If you have trickle stay away from this place."
"Wish I had the option to give him negative stars. We have been stuck with him being only one who accepted Human medicaid. Every visit we explain to him what's wrong and he always makes it seem like we are the ones doing it or wants to refer us out to someone else. Talks down to his clients. Told him we were experience high blood pressure and have been monitoring this with eye blood shot red and was told that's not his eye and to stop sticking finger in eye...REALLY?!?! Took my father in law to another dr and was given labs for A1C, cholesterol blood pressure was a bit high and then we went to an eye doctor for glaucoma...... sooo I wouldn't go to this guy EVER! He's going to dye anyday now himself being a dinosaur."
"Absolute worst experience I have ever had. Apt time was 11 waited for an hour and a half in the dirty waiting room full of sick people with obvious addiction problems. Had one gentlemen tweeking out next to me and my 6 and 8 year old children cursing up a storm. The waiting room was filthy had spiders in the corners with spider webs formed and roaches on the floor. Doctor asked me questions I already answered prior to being seen and was very frusterating to talk to. Dr has been in practice for 50 years and it shows. He was very decrepit and was farting while talking to my children. All together it took 2 hours and 30 minutes to complete this visit. And my kids weren't even sick. It was just a well check. DO NOT GO TO THIS DR"
