Dr. Betsy McCormick

"I'd only recommend going to Dr. McCormick and her practice if you want inconsiderate, poor quality care. I learned that McCormick failed to alert us to a "high risk" flag following medical tests we completed through her practice. I only learned of it after looking for something else in our records, and saw that TWO MONTHS had passed since the test result was flagged. Pardon my ignorance, but it seems like Physician 101 protocol would be to alert patients to "high risk" test results once they are received. But the most egregious part wasn't Dr. McCormick's lack of diligence; it was her response to it. After learning of these results, I requested to speak with Dr. McCormick to understand why we never received a call. After multiple calls and the runaround with her staff, Dr. McCormick's staff member suggested we set up an official telehealth appointment to discuss; when I asked if I would have to pay for the session, I was told it "was up to [my] insurance plan." She was going to charge us to discuss her mistake! When I said I refused to pay for this phone call, her staff member said she was "have to check" with Dr. McCormick to see if she would "do it for free." A few days later, we were informed that Dr. McCormick would oh-so-generously meet with us "pro bono." At this point, we happily ceased care with Dr. McCormick and went elsewhere. Ironically, weeks later, I received an email from a staff member informing us of results from a test we 1) completed months prior and 2) had already reviewed. The incompetence runs deep."

"This supposed GYN service provider spent a lot of time asking me questions that seemed to lead down one path and we talked mostly about birth control usage and fertility which was not a concern of mine. She didn’t even actually do anything or help me in any way but billed my insurance for the office visit. I actually felt used because the appointment went like this: physical exam, pushed me off by recommending a “pelvic floor specialist” which had nothing to do with what I was needing and then “ok you can leave now and please see the lady at the desk to pay k thanks”. I really wish I could have told my insurance to never pay this person. She didn’t do anything for me and she was never planning to. This doctor is interested in money for fertility services not anything else."
