"I was sent bills for medical services I received while I still had coverage, and found out it was because they were being flagged as services I received after my coverage ended, for some reason. After trying to reconcile the situation myself for over one year, calling Avmed, filing complaints with the BBB, I finally reached out to an attorney who took my case. I did not have to pay my attorney anything at all out of my own money and my case was resolved somewhat quickly. I never even had to go into his office. He collected his fee from the settlement with Avmed and the bills finally stopped. I wish I had known this was an option as soon as I started receiving these bills from them. It would have saved me so much time and headache. I simply wasn't aware I could hire an attorney for help without paying them myself. I just googled something like "attorneys- health claims-south Florida" there are plenty in the area."

"Victor Farinas the VP should be ashamed!!! If you plan to change primary doctors, you are looking at 17 hours spent on the phone. Their system is a disgrace. Also I called in to had my son to the policy, and of course they claim I didn’t… they are lazy, inefficient. I do not recommend this company at all."

"For over 3 months and a bunch of emails and calls I have been trying to cancel membership to this company. THEY WILL NOT LET ME CANCEL. No matter how many times I message or call customer support they keep telling me the cancelation request is ‘in progress’ and no matter how many times I follow up that status never changes. Now, after being charged for 3 additional months after I wanted to cancel, I am outraged at the sketchiness and robbery that AvMed has put me through. Stay away from this company at all costs."

"I have AvMed through my employer and never had an issue. Customer service is easy to reach, and when I had my son, the only reason I was having trouble adding him as a dependent was because my employer mistyped some information and got his name and DOB wrong. This was confirmed by both AvMed and my employer. I'm happy with my out-of-pocket costs and any issue I have is handled whenever I contact them. The website is a little slow, but I wait a few seconds to let it load and that's that. Overall, I'm a very happy member and I'm thankful to be insured by them (and thankful to my employer for the coverage!)."

""O" Star. Avmed is the worst experience I have ever had...My husband try to call two the costumer service and nobody answer the phone. He need update the Primary care Physician but nobody answer the phone and he needs prescription for vaccine fo Nurse's school. Really upset and I will contact my lawyer.... Unfortunately I didn't read the reviews before I choose this health Insurance..... My husband went to this building and try to reach someone in person from this insurance but these people work at home and nobody answer the phone. Run away for this insurance!!!!"
