"Staff are biased and unprofessional. Their med director admitted in court that she omitted all the medical documentation that did not support her theory of child abuse. That’s despicable, and makes Suncoast untrustworthy and a danger to the community!"
"DCF should immediately terminate the contract and cease accepting the "mandated forensic exam and interview results" from them. As they are continually reminding us, this outfit may not be the final decision-makers, however, they provide the clinical conclusions by which non-clinical decision-makers rely upon to make those final decisions. This requires 100% unbiased accuracy, because their "mandated forensic exam and interview results" are apparently taken as gospel by DCF and the court system in Penellas County (hmmm...). All the information available to the public seems to indicate that once the "system" is activated, no one stands a chance in this area. Yes, children need to be protected from true harm, however, working for an advocacy profession myself, all angles and perspectives need to be taken under consideration during the "mandated forensic exam and interview results" process and there is no room for power trips because the examiner simply doesn't agree, according to their own personal beliefs, with the situation they are evaluating. Oh, and generally speaking, Factitious/Conversion Disorder is a diagnosis of exclusion, which means all reasonable medical causes are first exhausted. This takes time and extensive research into the totality of the medical record, as it cannot accurately be ascertained by one interaction alone. Oh, and lastly, the advancement of the medical profession has been paved with untold numbers of interventions which were unconventional at the time, however, are now standards of care."
"How is this place still in business??? How are they still getting funding??? This center is a prime example of corruption within the CPS world. Non profit my butt. The amount of money (“funding”) they receive from tax payers is criminal and any contract should be immediately terminated. That they kept Dr Sally Smith on for as long as they did is suspicious. Falsely accusing parents of child abuse means big business and more funding for this center, so we shouldn’t be surprised when they hire corrupt people to find it where it doesn’t exist. Corrupt, corrupt, corrupt."
"How can it be that Suncoast Center Inc, a FOR-PROFIT company, is still receiving State and County tax dollars? Anyone who has ever worked for reputable medical provider would instantly see the staggering lack of oversight, governance and standards compliance of this outfit. That Dr. Sally Smith is STILL employed at Suncoast and affiliated with other medical practices whilst in the middle of a trial is utterly stunning."
"If you recently stopped working and are uninsured, they could easily ask for bank statements and other proof to see what you can afford and charge you accordingly. Instead they insist you bring someone in with you to sign a document of support. How often is that going to reflect reality? I'm willing to bet almost never. So their policy is essentially to have a paying patient involve another person in a minor bit of fraud if they wish to be seen. Sure, why not."
