"Just had hand surgery here , place was clean , front staff very nice and professional. Then was called , Nurse Monica was very professional , helped out and went over the key things a person should know . If I had to the other nurse’s names I would include them . The anesthesiologist from PR asked every question and assured all will be ok . After surgery I could not have asked for more helpful people , the nurse ( blondish color hair ) continued to check on how I was feeling etc . When it was time to be wheeled to the car , the gentleman was courteous and polite. Great experience! Thank you"
"This review is for the business in Suite #201 at The Gables Surgical Center. I had back surgery in April 2022 and I was very pleased throughout the entire process. I was the first patient to arrive, even before the staff. As they streamed in, the staff was polite and spoke, and seemed to have great energy. I was called in and prepped for surgery and noticed the facility is very thorough. The Doc, Dr. Roybal who also wrote his initials on my back, all the staff who would handle my surgery came by and introduced themselves as they were doing their checks. Checking and rechecking EVERYTHING at least 5 times I counted. Probably more, but I had started laughing a bit because I appreciated it so much. The staff was cheery and in a good mood which made me feel calmer. When I was taken to surgery they asked me what procedure I was having to make sure I know what was to happen before they put me to sleep. I had a Discectomy and a Laminectomy right where the last lumbar connects to the next part and It's L something and S something. The surgical center even called me a week later to see how I was doing! ---------------- To address some concerns from other bizarre reviews. ---------------- One review said the place was dirty. --- It was not filthy, even the public restroom on the 2nd floor was clean. It was definitely original from the 1970s. Looking old and looking dirty is not the same. Another review said disrespectful and drama. -- I did not experience that. I was in Suite #201, I cannot speak for other businesses. The reviewers should be more specific. Another review said The client service is terrible. -- I did not experience that. Another review said Administrator has no medical experience... etc... -- This review sounds like it's from a previous employee who is no longer with the company. A typical person doesn't say "Administrator", we call it a receptionist, and the State Department is going to be called? For surgery? Red Flag on that review."
"Dirty place in a not so good area. Not what you want to see when dropping a loved one off for surgery. Staff is non communicative. My husband was supposed to be out in 2 hrs. I called to ask and they told me it would be two hours more. As this is happening in a lot of reviews this is their routine and no matter how many people they upset they don’t change their ways. Even 2 hrs later my husband was not released. I was told to wait in the parking lot which is really gross and no one should be left waiting in a parking lot. This place is like a third world country."
"This place is beyond disrespectful and drama for days between themselves. The first time I came to have a procedure done I heard the nurses having drama between them in front of patients such as myself that are about to have surgery, then nurses complaining about forms they need to fill out now about hours and to top it off the anesthesiologist having a full blown argument on the phone in front of patients. The nurse even had to tell him keep it down and step away. Second time around my surgery was scheduled for 9:30am, came earlier by a few minutes (15min) to be exact, almost 3 hours later, empty stomach and I wasn’t being called. They are nice but they kill you with kindness and deceit. It’s almost as if they read a script they are given. If you can chose another location do so!! This is not the place unless you like to freely waste your time!! No Stars!!!!!"
"The client service is terrible. For my whole career I have worked as a receptionist at 3 different medical offices. To have inadequate communication with the families of the patients is completely unacceptable. When my parents had originally gone in they were assured that the procedure would not take more than 20 minutes, today when me, my dad and my mom showed up for surgery, we waited by the front door for 10 minutes and there was a bell so we presumed that we were meant to ring it. After ringing the bell the receptionist (or whichever staff member was at the front desk) just sat down and continued talking to another staff member. My dad rang the bell again and slowly she walked to the window and obviously annoyed asked who was here. We informed her of my moms name 3 times. Then she just dismissed my dad and I, told us the family wasn’t allowed to be inside. We then asked how long the process should take and very she dryly said 4 hours and we were dismissed. This all happened this morning around 11 am, we then did not hear from them at all until 3ish, then they told us it would 30 more minutes and she would be ready to home. We then did not hear from them for 45 minutes so my dad decided to call back just to make sure everything was okay because my mom comes out of anesthesia poorly and she has never done it without him, so you can imagine his stress levels are extremely high at this point, as well as mine. At 3:45 they said to pull up to the front, so we did. Then we waited at the front for 30 more minutes after my mom was supposedly on her way down. So then my dad pulled off to the side so we weren’t in anyone’s way. He then tired to call again, BUT THEY HAD TURNED THEIR PHONES OFF. We had absolutely no communication with them and my mother who does not come out of anesthesia well. At this point, 45 minutes after we were told my mom was on her way down we are completely panicked at this point. I went up and tried to get someone’s attention with no success because the office staff had gone home for the day. Then my dad at this point extremely panicked because we had no idea if my mom was okay or healthy, went up and tried to get someone’s attention. He was banging on the door and ringing the bell with no success. Then we waited and waited for another 30 minutes and they still had not brought her down. My dad again went up and finally spoke with a staff member who said they were bringing her down, which they did. Then when the nurse came, my dad let her know it was unacceptable to have the phone completely off like that while families are still waiting for patients. The nurse was very nice, and apologetic and explained what had happened which we appreciated. But we absolutely should have been informed what was going on, why it was taking longer and we should have been able to contact the office. Plain and simple this is absolutely unacceptable."
