"The sarasota clinic is well organized..services are provided with minimal waiting periods, the staff is courteous and caring."
"Went in to have my hearing aid fixed. Great people but long wait."
"It is never helpful when you ask questions to have a front desk person say “ I don’t know “ when you ask questions. Or someone, they don’t know if they’re in or not until the veterans just stuck waiting and wondering. Not helpful at all."
"They need to dissolve the VA entirely and just let us use regular doctors. They continue throwing money at an organization that has steadily gotten worse over the last decade. To the point now where you can’t even talk to someone on the phone without waiting 30 minutes and people hang up on you. Either only allow veterans to work for the VA or GET RID OF IT"
"As a young minority veteran, this is my 2nd VA Clinic I've been a patient at. During my first visit to this clinic, it was around the holidays, and I went in to complete a new enrollment . I walked into an empty building on the first floor, noticed a check-out window with 3 panels, and saw a blonde woman sitting there on headphones and a video call. I stood there for 5minutes...She Never acknowledge my presence, or asked what i needed help with, so I went around the corner to go look for help... I was then helped by a gentleman with dreadlocks at a check-in desk, who then rerouted me back to the area where I just walked from. . The woman continued to ignore me, and eventually the gentleman can back and asked her where the enrollment paperwork is. She reluctantly got up and helped me after that. While filling out paperwork, i was in pain and just wanted to fill it out and go, and loudly and clearly heard this same blonde woman greet and ask an older white gentleman what he needed and how she could help(at this point I knew I was being discriminated against). I went back over to the desk where the blonde women sat after i was done filling out the paperwork.. I stood there again for about 2 minutes(while she still had headphones on) and then proceeded to say 'here you are ma'am ,I'm finished '. she told me 'one moment' and made sure to tell me she was on lunch break ,and that she was swamped because her coworkers were out sick(IN other words, she didn't care about helping me ) ... she had no other veterans she was helping, and later i found out after calling to complain about my experience, that she was on a video chat with her coworkers and they were having a holiday part(so she found it more important to tell me she was in the middle of holiday party instead of helping out a fully disabled veteran(100) to get her into the). AND her supervisor justified her actions when i complained,,by saying 'oh yes that was our holiday party, and i do remember her telling us to hold on so she can help someone' , and 'shes one of the best people here'.._.. THERE'S NO EXCUSE TO NOT HELP A VETERAN AT A VETERANS CLINIC. THE JOB IS CREATED TO HELP US, AND SHOULDN'T BE LESS IMPORTANT THAN A PLATE OF FOOD. When I brought my paperwork up to her, she also asked me what type of job I did in the military after she asked me how much percentage I rank for disability i receive,EVEN though it was on the paper. She then began to brag and said she used to be in medical when she was in. Clearly jealous of my rating. As a minority veteran at a new clinic. I'm disappointed we're still going through stupidity like this .."
