"Last week I spent two nights in the hospital with a kidney infection that almost killed me, a 2 CM large stone blocking me. This made my body turn septic and organs were shutting down. This was exactly 4 months after giving birth to a baby under the care of CWC. CWC took care of me during my pregnancy. They detected a UTI that never seemed to go away. I was put on an antibiotic (prophylactically) to protect the baby for my entire pregnancy. After giving birth they tested my urine in the hospital many times, however there was no more mention of an infection. Four months later I was at deaths door. The hospital experience was not pleasant either. I imagined a much more comforting and caring staff. I never knew what doctor or midwife I would be seeing or who would be delivering my baby. The majority of the people in the hospital were nasty, angry or patronizing. After this kidney infection incident I have begun searching for a new OBGYN. I will never recommend this organization to anyone."
"First pregnancy, first time mom. My experience started out well but I'm not sure if that's just because I was excited and clueless. I felt some of the providers didn't listen well or care about my symptoms. I heard a lot of "oh that's just pregnancy." Eventually I started saying that to myself instead of advocating for myself which was dumb on my part bc i was really struggling. My delivery experience was traumatic. The midwife from the practice who was supposed to be at the hospital was about 45 minutes late for her shift. I was desperate for an epidural but the midwife was nowhere to be found and she had to do an exam before I could get it. Later she gave me a bad exam and told me to start pushing but I wasn't fully dialated so it caused my cervix to close/swell instead of dialating more. My baby was having problems with his heart rate dropping and the hospital nurses kept having to intervene to get his heart rate back up. The Doctor from the practice finally arrived and told me the midwife messed up AND threw the amazing hospital nurses under the bus for "freaking out for no reason." The doctor ruined her rapport with me by attacking the hospital nurses who provided great care and were great advocates for me. The fetal heart rate monitor would go off and every nurse on the floor was in my room trying to get the babys heart rate back up. So I was terrified that this doctor and midwife who destroyed their rapport and my trust in them had to do my emergency c-section. I completely panicked in the OR room. My hospital discharge instructions(verbal and written) from the midwife did NOT mention a 2-week post-op check up. I went in to the office over a month later as instructed, super upset and having extreme anxiety bc I didn't want to see them again but i couldnt find a new ob fast enough... I was greeted with "you never came for your incision check-up" thankfully there was no infection and there didn't seem to be any problems with how my c-section was healing. I recieved a bill ($350 minus a credit from an overpayment), called the office to pay it, was told that there was nothing on my account except a pending lab and i'd get that bill soon. I finally get a bill for the lab which ALSO included an overdue amout! AND I recieved a letter from a collections agency for that same overdue amount. Hopefully my credit isn't ruined but thank god me and my baby are okay. I'd never ever recommend going here."
"I had been with CWC for over 18 years. 2 years ago I went in for my well woman's appointment. At the mammo, they recommended a diagnostic 4D for fibrocystic at their Tampa office. I double checked that this was going to be covered by my insurance. They assured me that it was. I went and had the imaging performed. When I left there they said; no charge. Months later I start receiving bills for approx $350.00 for what? I didn't know. (later to find out it was for "professional services" ie. for the professional that read the 4D images....this professional is in network, an employee of CWC). The insurance company said that CWC had coded it wrong. CWC said the insurance company is refusing to cover it. After going round and round I am now receiving a letter threatening to turn this over to collections. These deceptive billing practices MUST STOP!!! I will never go back to this practice. Stay away!!!"
"Wow, I'm really surprised this office has a 2.0 rating. I love it here! It's always so clean, the midwifes feel like family here. I loved it here so much when i was expecting another child i came back! I'd highly recommend this office to all my friends and family!"
"I received terrible patient care and continuity of care. I was "dropped" from the practice due to high medical risk at 30 weeks pregnant. I was given no notice and no assistance by staff or physicians at CWC in scheduling an apt with a new provider to accommodate my high medical risk. I was informed I was no longer their patient at a scheduled apt when the midwife wondered why I even came there that my care had already been terminated (huge shock to me). Over a week after I was dropped and already had an apt with a new provider did CWC send me a letter informing me that I was dropped. Poor communication, poor patient care. I had been with CWC for years and they even delivered my first child but after being treated like this I will NEVER be returning to their practice. I put up with the long wait times, poor staff attitudes and lacking bedside manner but after this incident they have broken my trust as a patient beyond repair."
