"UF HEALTH... just, no. LACK OF AUTONOMY After experiencing university/teaching hospitals that provided care exactly as you would expect, I have been DEEPLY disappointed. I have experienced MANY medical departments at UF since moving here from VA. I mistakenly assumed it would be worthwhile and similar to the standard of care at places like VCU and UVA. They are a HIGHLY conservative hospital with treatments and very often explanations (minus: they do have a ketamine clinic... but you may not get into it). You better know how to navigate your own healthcare and advocate for yourself to some degree to get all that you can out of them. However, you may do all that just to be told "no", anyhow. Departments I include: Neurosurgery (there are no words for Dr Shaharan, except: ZERO stars. /Dr Daniel Ho, however, was very helpful), Primary Care (if you are on certain meds they will just take you off of them without disussion), Dermatology (the doc I saw was indifferent), Rheumatology (unhelpful)"
