"In 2021, my sister and I volunteered to help with the immunization program in DFS. We're nurses and were very impressed with the professionalism and commitment of all of the staff, including the MD leader (can't recall her name), nurses and techs. We were happy to be of help. We were impressed to recently receive a certificate thanking US for our service. As Holly Holt of the Walton County Health Department noted, it was late - but we can't thank them enough for providing such services to the citizens and taking the time - however long - to thank us for our modest services. "Waited 2 weeks to get into what I was told a dentist appointment to extract an extremely painful tooth. Was asked very personal questions that had nothing to do with my tooth. They do not do any thing there, but primary doctor care. Even had to take a urine test. I don't even think they cared why I was there. They just assumed since I was at the health dept instead of. Private dentist I had mental or addiction issues. I am just relocating from out of state."

"The administrative and medical staff in the DeFuniak Springs and Santa Rosa Beach locations is genuinely caring, professional, attentive, and always on time. Truly, everyone I have had an opportunity to meet from the Walton County Health Department (WCHD) has a heart of gold and deeply cares about the patients. I can’t think of another medical facility in Destin or Santa Rosa Beach that offers the WCHD’s the level of genuine care and expertise. They do accept patients who have a private insurance. I have the UnitedHealthcare and it is accepted. Truly, the nicest, most caring, and professional medical and administrative staff I have had a pleasure to see. Thank you for all you do! P.S. For the people complaining about long wait times on the phone and in person: Have you tried calling White Wilson? Then you would know how how long you would have to wait for a call back and schedule an appointment 2-4 weeks in advance. Quest Diagnostics anyone? Good luck getting anyone on the phone. Have you been to Palmetto Family Health? The rudest administrative staff - period. Nobody’s perfect."

"held onto the covid 19 vaccines while they took vacation for the Christmas holidays. Then, after making everyone wait, you could not get through to their phone lines. An absolute disaster when it came to handling the critically need vaccines. How something like this could have happened is just sad."

"We are waiting for almost 30 minutes, even though its already the time for our appointment, with a crying baby, waiting for vaccination. People who came after us went in before us. The ladies at the check in just saying that we have to wait. No respect at all. The baby is on schedule, we've counted on going in on time, getting the vaccines, so he could go to sleep on time. It didn't happen. Baby fell asleep before they called us, and we had to wake him up when we went in. The doctor was great."
