Reviews
"This is the most caring and competent staff. All of the therapists BCBAs. The impact has been incredible. Highly recommend"
"I'm unsure as to why someone actually gave them a 1-star review. Impressive staff and services. The Perdido location is conveniently located near the NAS back gate. Our autistic son has made great leaps due to this office's tireless dedication to his welfare, training and future. We tried a competitor and were disappointed by his ABA results. The aides were untrained and the BCBA hard to find. But BTEC only hires BCBAs. Your autistic child gets intensive 1-on-1 with a trained professional. This isn't a baby sitting service though. As parents, we need to be proactive, patient, and punctual. The results will come with commitment."
"I wrote a review about this place a while ago and somehow it has been deleted and is no longer showing up. So I’ll keep writing reviews that way no other kid goes through what my daughter went through! My daughter went to BTEC off Sorrento Road approx. 3-4 years ago. Our first therapist who we loved moved to a different state and we were assigned to a new therapist. I won’t write her name because I feel like that’s the reason my other review was removed. Her name starts with an S. My daughter was only 3-4 at the time and could not talk very well some talking but mostly scripting. She would cry when getting dropped off. One day she was scripting in the car when my mom picked her up. She was saying “No, Mrs. S, let me out, it’s dark, let me out” my mom text the therapist and asked about what happened and Mrs. S told my mom that she locked my daughter in the dark room because she was upset and crying and that’s a calming technique they used. (I have text proof of this convo and her admitting to locking my daughter in the dark room) I looked at my paperwork of calming techniques they use and locking the child in a dark room was not on the list of approved techniques I agreed to. I talked to the owner about it through email which I still have proof of and that was a waste of time. She pretty much didn’t want to hear it even though I had proof of the therapist doing this and she kept assuring me that what Mrs. S did was in fact a calming technique used by therapists that was proven for calming. BUT I told them when my daughter started therapy she was scared of the dark and she did not like closed doors. I pulled my daughter out and we found a new ABA that didn’t believe in locking kids in dark rooms until they calm down. If you are thinking about sending your kid here DON’T. Especially if they aren’t able to verbalize things that happen. My daughter is now 8 and STILL refuses to stay in dark rooms or have doors shut. This place is the reason ABA gets a bad name :( it’s sad."
