"I have been a Catholic in Jacksonville, FL all my life. Was raised in Sacred Heart School. Sacred Heart continues to be a wonderful school. We transferred our son from SHS to St, Paul's Riverside last year, we'd been attending 7 PM Mass on Sundays here for roughly 4 years. We decided to support the School and the Church we attended. Father Sal is a wonderful priest but was retired and recently the appointment of Father George Vaniyapurackal, a priest with a genuine compassion and love for people and history of Hospital Pastoral Care, has been appointed as our Pastor. It is an awesome fit. The congregation of St. Paul's is well-blessed by the Bishop's appointment. Our son had done well at SHS, but has thrived in the last year at St. Paul's. The teachers and principal are great, there is a happy vibe that goes from the Principal to the kids and even the 'Sheriff of St. Paul's' , who maintains our building and grounds. The original church was established in 1923. The current church holds 900 people and was built in 1939, dedicated in 1940. It is spacious and although there is a PA system some have problems hearing. My recommendation would be that you sit towards the front of the Church and not in the back. We are a renewed group, growing and welcoming others to join. We aren't all things to everyone, but we are in line with everything the Catholic Church holds as TRUTH. We are aware all have sinned, including ourselves. If you are looking for a place to call you Spiritual Home ~ this is highly recommended by me."
