"Well judging by these reviews this place didn't change much. I graduated back in 2002 and it was a nightmare. We had brand new dorms yet the students were filthy and didn't clean up after themselves so of course the place went to hell. Staff has ALWAYS been racist toward white students, especially the security staff. The food wasn't too bad, just processed. We were bored out of our minds yet weren't allowed to leave the property until after 4pm. Remember this was before cell phones were a thing so we had to make our own entertainment within grounds. I always thought it was strange to have students ranging from 16-24 living and sleeping in the same rooms. I think the only good experience for me was making new friends because I had always felt like an outcast so making new friends was a plus. In fact our little group of misfits are still tight till this very day. Other than that and graduating the place was miserable and not to mention the V.I.s, they were always very violent and mean to the white students for some reason they thought they could walk all over you and run the place. I'm kinda glad the school shut down honestly."
"Job corps wasn't that bad we was able to have delivery in 2009 and 2010 when I attended but yes certain places didn't deliver because some students was just cruel or would try to rob someone. Some was crimals who attended was either attend this place or go to jail your option. Some of us chose to go their for simple fact a free furthering education is always nice when not having to pay for it as it's extremely exspenive and some of us are not fortunate enough to afford Harvard or Yale or something to that effect. When I went there was students who would steal from Walmart and got the entire school banned from there for months. A lot of drama but keep you head down and keep to urself and your fine. Ignore the drama and pettiness of people and your ok. I did get sick a lot when I ate the schools food so I always made my own lunch. You did have that option as in the dorm rooms was refrigerators and freezers. So I learned to buy my own food make my own food and eat my own food I learned within the first week of attending to do so or I would order something and walk to security and grab and pay for my lunch and sit outside and eat it away from others under the picnic area."
"I came here in 2016-2017 water was contaminated the food was contaminated medical staff weren't do anything. I was a minor graduate didn't find a job there was judged by my age at the time they expect you to have a job within a week and throw you to the curb. They were happy and shocked that I was done within 7 months and being a 17 year kid."
"I’m a job corps graduate from Exeter RI! To be honest job corps really isn’t that bad. You’re There to get your education and focus on yourself. Making friends is not a top priority. Nor is job corps a jail or prison. The students here are getting free food, free education, free rides, and getting paid weekly. There are restrictions for a reason due to people going out of their way to give us a better future. I couldn’t disagree with anything that job corpse has to offer or any rules or regulations that they may already have. Because without them; and the type of maturity we have due to age difference. Job corpse wouldn’t be as organized and successful as it is today. If dominoes and any other pizza shop has a problem with delivering then maybe those companies need to educate their coworkers on respect. Because sadly in this world you’re picking on children who are trying to better their lives and better themselves over 10 to 15% of a tip. And y’all are supposed to be grown adults?"
"As a parent trying to get food delivered to my son, I find is very odd that Pizza Hut, Dominoes, and a few other delivery places REFUSE to deliver food to your building because of the security staff! These kids are at Job Corps for an education and it seems more like a prison. The local facility in Jacksonville hyped this place up, the food is great, it's a great atmosphere so on and so forth but they are fed garbage. My son asked questions about his class schedule and his answer from an instructor was "Nope". His friend and himself beg me to get them the hell out of there every weekend...why is this? Now, I'm concerned. Reading the other reviews from students, I can see my son is not the only one that feels this way."
