Timbers Restaurant

"Let me share my horrific experience with timbers restaurant. They contacted me on indeed as I was seeking employment so I arrived with resume in hand as I was instructed to do between the hours of 10am to 3pm. I arrived and introduced myself to owner who was working behind fish counter. He asked if he could help me assuming I was a customer. I proceeded to tell him that I was there responding to a request by him from indeed for employment and I was told by women who answered phone to come in between 10am and 3pm. He then proceeded to get very annoyed stating WHY IS SHE TELLING YOU TO COME IN YELLING AT ME. He then asked me (with the upmost agitation DO YOU HAVE REFERENCES!!!) I said yes (very high end references) . Do to his nasty unprofessional demeanor I shrugged it off due to the fact that he was desperately hiring(his words not mine) and he was overwhelmed trying to cut fish and wait on customers. So he said call me at 9am tomorrow (I new he was just wasting my time at this point blowing smoke. So I proceeded to call him at 9am next day just to be lied to by women answering phone stating he was in a meeting he would call me when he got out. Again I was rudly dismissed. Timbers has lost out on a veteran employee. To be treated with such degrading, behavior and disrespect clearly tells a story as to why Timbers will always be hiring. I can't imagine being an employee of this man. So perhaps he did me a favor in the end. Traders is obviously killing Timbers business and perhaps that's why this owner is so angry. They will not make it."

"Imitation crab meat..? Server was friendly, the frozen lemonade was refreshing and the inside was decorated nicely… But.. The food we had here however was a big miss. Started with a bowl of the crab bisque which had very little crab flavor and ended with what I can only describe as a “cheese whiz” after taste. We then shared the triple shrimp platter where upon arriving to the table just looked messy and a bit unappetizing.. The scampi and the crunchy shrimp were fine but nothing to write home about. The stuffed shrimp on the other hand were not good. The menu just said “crab meat stuffing” but does not say that they use a bit of imitation crab meat as part of the stuffing. Very disappointing to get something like this when they have a connected fish market? Had high hopes but was definitely let down."

"The food was delicious. We had the petite fillet, cooked to perfect, tasted amazing. The crunchy shrimp, scallops, and grouper platter, another great pick. The service was wonderful too."

"Some of my family was vacationing on Sanibel over Easter, so I went to visit them for the day and we finished with dinner here. My aunt chose the place and was so excited, and I understood why afterward. Even just the setup of the restaurant is so cool and island-like, it’s hard to describe unless you go there and see. They have a pretty neat history that’s briefly explained on the back of their menu. As many Floridian restaurants go, there’s lots of fresh seafood options- you can see the fish sitting out on ice right by the hostess’s stand. You can basically pick any kind of fish and then pick how you want it cooked and with what sauce, so I loved the flexibility and variety there. In my party of 5 we all tried different fish with different sauces. The clam chowder was fantastic, and so was pretty much everything I tried. It tasted fresh and high quality and I couldn’t have really asked for more (maybe a bigger stomach, but that’s always the issue with tasty food). I do believe we also made reservations ahead of time because it is a popular restaurant so you may want to do that too. This is definitely a great option when in the area!"

"Excellent service and great variety of food. Our whole family loved it so much we went back the next evening as well and we were lucky enough to get the same server, Carolyn who really knew the menu and could describe all items, as my family likes to ask a lot of questions. All of Carolyn's recommendations were great and tasty. The pictures in this review are from two evenings meals. My kids found the lemonade a bit too sweet but thought the ice tea was perfect. All of the shrimp dishess were great. Tons of menu choices, my daughter loved the seared sushi and I liked the steak sandwich with grilled onions and blue cheese crumbles on garlic bread. The chips and salsa was colourful but the salsa was a bit bland for our taste, we like bit of heat.. Nice atmosphere and plenty of parking, all the staff we talked to were super helpful and friendly, the host Elvin/Alvin (?,) Was very nice. We were always too full to try any desserts . Nice interior, we enjoyed sitting outside on the patio. The place seemed very popular and we would definitely recommend a visit."
