Doc Ford's Rum Bar & Grille

"Unfortunately the food was not great everything else was ok. The mussels were foul smelling, undercooked onions in the wine sauce. We went there by the reviews. We ordered banana leaf grouper - grouper was tasteless. The rice and beans were not upto the par either, they felt like pre packaged or canned or ready to made rice and beans. We also had red fish, it came with sweet plantains that were good but unfortunately same rice and beans. Red fish was over done but it was the second best. Being the only big place probably it attracts lot of crowd and I am absolutely surprised at the reviews vs actual quality and taste of food. Maybe the other items are good but we are not going to go back. The place was huge and plenty of parking available."

"We love Doc Ford's! Absolutely our favorite place to go every time we stay on Captiva or Sanibel. We stayed on Captive for a week and Doc Ford's was the only restaurant we went to (we even went twice!) while we were there. Both times our servers were excellent, the food was absolutely delicious, and their drink selection was on-par. Plenty of parking, very clean, and lots of room to accommodate our large group (7 people). We were seated immediately both times we went. The staff is also really excellent and accommodating with kids. We even asked them to add candles (that we brought) to my sons' desserts for their birthday, and they were really good about it and made it really special when they brought them out. We will definitely be back- probably many times."

"The food was really good here. The Doc Fords Original Lime Pan Crusted Fish Sandwich was AMAZING! Their shrimp is delicious too! Salads were really tasty and Buffalo Tenders were fire! The place was very clean. The service was a bit slow as we’ve been there before & haven’t waited that long for food, but we weren’t in a huge hurry so we didn’t mind much. Something for everyone. We will definitely be back next year!"

"Arrived for dinner at 730 on Friday night. We were seated.immediately on the porch. We both ordered margaritas which were delivered quickly. Unfortunately, they were brought out in tumblers rather than margarita glass. May not be a big deal to most, but it's my preference. We ordered Docs Beach Bread with jalapeños on the side. Came out wrong but the manager immediately corrected the order and took it off the bill. The clam chowder was hot and delicious and the chicken taco salad was fresh and plenty to split."

"I have been this place many times before they moved the location away from south seas. This restaurant is great for a laid-back atmosphere. My son enjoys the seafood here. I enjoy the drinks and the shrimp. It's very family friendly. We have enjoyed this restaurant chain for many years. Thanks for always serving us with a smile and being fast/efficient. Glad to see you guys open and doing well."
