McGrath's Irish Ale House

"What a great evening! Got here for happy hour, which is a really good one and decided to try a few fun things. Had the Boxty bites to start, which were amazing! And then followed it up with the McGrath’s Smoked Old Fashioned. I’ll try to post the video (no luck) but basically it’s an old-fashioned in a box being smoked with an Irish pinecone. What!?!? Never had anything like this. Even having had smoked old-fashioned before… never like this! The rest of our food was great! I had the bang bang, chicken, with some fries. Definitely worth coming to. Wait staff was amazing! Hat tip to Karli! *** On top of all this… It started raining when we are getting ready to leave. My mom is 86 and has a lot of difficulty walking. Uses a walker. It started raining HARD right when we were about to go outside. We waited a few minutes, but it didn’t let up. Of course, we didn’t have our umbrella. While I was opening the car door and trying to find something to shield us from the rain, the owner pulled up to drop something off, and wound up going to his own car and getting his umbrella and helping us out. Above and beyond! Thank you so much for being good people."

"We came in after the art show/sale in the afternoon. We had a couple of drinks and the avocado/salmon tower and the scotch eggs and saved room for the whiskey bread pudding, which was amazing."

"I came here to have lunch because of the Name and outside seating. I had a long wait for someone at the nearby hospital. My server was polite and friendly. Food came quickly and was very good! I only ordered an appetizer but, still very good! Ruben Eggrolls, WOW! Great taste! However, I gave a 2 star for the atmosphere because of the bartender who wals working while I was there, for me she was the "Atmosphere". I unfortunately interacted with her on more than one occasion. She only spoke to me once but if her looks , well you've heard the saying. 2nd reason for a low star is, I asked my server about the cigars I saw when I came in , how would I light one? I didn't bring a lighter even though I smoke cigars. Do they sell lighters or have matches? She said that she would have to ask. She came with a different attitude and said No you're on your own,we have nothing. Well, obviously I didn't buy any!"
