Ruth's Chris Steak House - Sarasota

"Went with some extreme expectations looking at the reviews and everything. Upon entering, hosts were amazing and very supportive of making sure you were happy and welcomed. I sat in the bar area, in which the bar is extremes small, but was sat instead at a table for 6 when it was just me. This may make some uncomfortable, but having been in this industry actually meant so much. They just proved to me that I, the customer, was more important than possibility 5 more that they were losing giving me that table. I ordered a double gentleman jack and coke tall and received a double gentleman jack on the rocks. The shrimp cocktail was amazing, with great flavor and cook. I ordered the filet and shrimp with garlic mashed potatoes, with a starter of house salad, no onions with ranch. Salad was delivered with red onions but overall amazing flavor to the point where I finished the whole salad. Filet came out roughly 10 degrees under still a little blue but close enough not to complain or send it back. It was under seasoned for what you would expect and had to add salt, which is strange because I have high blood pressure and have been removing salt from my diet and had to add salt. Garlic mashed potatoes were amazing, and as I sat there, I realized that I may have missed out on some homemade bread that I watched another table get while ordering the same thing I ordered. All in all, it was a very great experience, and if I didn't go with the expectations, it probably would have been 5 out of 5."

"Friendly and attentive staff. Extremely limited vegetarian options. Food: Filet 10. Garlic mashed potatoes 10. Bread 10. Sea bass 8.5. Lobster Mac n cheese 7 (the lobster was the only reason it was better than average. Hubby and I saw the runny cheese and were like, Nope). Artichoke and cheese appetizer 10. Chopped salad 8 (this was the entree for a vegetarian and the portion was more of a side salad). Pet peeve: Please change this with your training ... More than one server had their arm reached out to take something off the table as they asked, May I take this? Uh, actually no. Awkward. If you're already reaching to remove it, why ask? Maybe train the servers to ask first and only then reach to remove it?"

"Over the past 17 years we have gone to Ruth’s Chris multiple times. We have celebrated holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, and even for no special occasion. We made Valentine’s reservations several weeks ago. We arrived early and was able to be sat right away. Then things went downhill. We sat for over 20 minutes and all we managed to get were napkins and water. No bread. No order. Nothing. And probably 1/3 of the tables were empty. We watched other tables get the service we were not getting. Finally we just left. As we left we let them know we would not be going back. Unfortunately we have watched this particular Ruth’s Chris go steadily downhill. We’ve been to others and not had the same experience. But we will not subject ourselves to this restaurant again."

"What a great experience. My husband and I went for our anniversary. To our surprise the staff had put rose petals on our table and a card signed by everyone. The food was fantastic, as always. But they really went above and beyond for our special day."
