Timpano Hyde Park 1610 West Swann Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606

"We went there for our anniversary dinner. We had the Burrata with pistachio butter and tomato jam for starters, Radiatore with truffles and mushrooms, and Rigatoni with charred tomatoes for the mains, and creamed spinach and eggplant polpette for the sides. We also had a smoked old fashioned and Amalfi passion fruit gin drink. Since we are vegetarian and my husband doesn’t eat eggs, we were offered the gluten-free lentil pasta option, and therefore instead of radiatore and rigatoni, we had penne in other of our pasta dishes. Everything was super delicious and very filling- so much that we didn’t have room for dessert! I especially recommend the radiatore and the burrata. If you’re a vegetarian or if you don’t eat eggs, you will not be disappointed with the food at Timpano. However, there were a few downers too. The first was that the maitre d’ was pretty rude and unwelcoming in her tone and demeanor. I had made a reservation the day before. Upon arriving, the host asked my name a couple of times and even though it is an Indian name it is not difficult to pronounce or spell. She told me she didn’t have my reservation when I had made one the day before and also called again earlier the same day before visiting to move the reservation to 8:30. However, she offered me a reservation at the moment. The second was that even though there wasn’t too much of a rush as it was a Thursday, the waiters seemed to be running around initially and didn’t even offer or ask us for water. During the course of our dinner, our server became more attentive and asked us about door and such, and packed out leftovers for us. If I go here again, it is definitely for the food."

"Booked a reservation for an anniversary dinner. Our server, Brandy, was so attentive and efficient. The food was amazing and spaced accordingly. We even had a visit from a manager, Jessica, to see how our dinner was going. 10/10 experience. Love dining at this restaurant!"

"5 star cost, 2 star environment and food. Only reason for two was server was nice, knowledgeable, and attentive. Oysters were sold in 1/2 dozen. Size of a quarter, shucked incorrectly, with pieces of sharp shell in with oyster. Octopus was over cooked, rubbery, tough, and served at room temperature even though it was a hot appetizer. Filet ordered medium rare, came court medium to medium well. Wasn’t sent back because food came out painfully slow. Meat was almost cold when came out. Herb crusted mushrooms were garlic and oil drowned. No crust anywhere. Again room temperature. Asparagus improperly cut so tips were burnt and bottom of stem was raw. Again served at room temperature. Ordered coffee during desert and it was room temperature. We paid $225 for something not worth $50 in total. If it wasn’t a birthday celebration I would have demanded the entire check be complimentary because it was so bad. Management can reach out if they’re interested in refunding my money. Check my other reviews because there’s way better options around town to celebrate. In closing it was so loud you couldn’t hold a conversation. Simply terrible!"

"Love the Hyde Park area, always a fun time. Interior is very clean and "tropical" vibes. It was very busy as we went on a Saturday however we were lucky enough to be able to sit up at the bar which is what we prefer anyways. Service was a bit slow, 10-15 min sometimes before check ins, drink orders were placed but then I feel like they were forgotten about as it took 20 min just to bring my wife a wine refill. Cocktails were good though and well executed. We weren't super hungry as we just split an app and a main entree however the salmon burger was very delicate and fresh. I want to come back for sure and give a full dining experience a try. Nothing would deter me from trying Timpano again."

"Tampa side pasta is definitely worth a try. We felt like it was enough to feed four people. The octopus, wedge salad and snapper were all delicious. Our server Emma was responsive and the timing of our meals were perfect."
