"Come here for the soup!! The barbecue in my opinion is just okay most days, but the soup...let me tell ya bout the soup. I was craving soup one day and wound up getting it from here. I was immediately impressed. The beef and vegetable soup was full of fresh vegetables and the chunks of beef were seasoned right and perfectly cooked. The broth was balanced without being overly salty. I devoured a quart on my own! I have had the chicken and dumpling soup, chicken gumbo, and Brunswick stew...every one, absolutely delectable. They all taste homemade, which I love. The ingredients in them are fresh- tasting and cooked right. The meat was also well balanced, seasoned, and cooked perfectly. Their soups may not be as great as the ones a mom makes, but they come very close! Honestly, I'll skip the barbecue here and just get the soups, they're that great."

"Food was really below average. The meat was very greasy and the sides like the macaroni have changed and were not good. It’s sad because I used to come there a lot, but the food was just not good. Server was real good, but she can’t control the quality of food. Paid for a lot of subpar food"

"As a Sonny’s fan through and through I will admit they have a lot of similarities. Menu. Sauces. Tea. Salad Bar. There are a few things that make them different. One is the portion sizes. It is true from the other perspectives, I agree that it seems the portions seem a bit smaller here at P&C or maybe I was just more hungry that day. Who knows. The sauce isn’t as good as Sonny’s but the sweet is all I’ve tried to be fair. The only thing I wish was for some more consistency in service. One day it takes 9 minutes to get our plate. The next day it takes 30. They only give fries with the lunch special or the “Big Deal” in Sonny’s terms. Wish that had a little more options. But it’s the same meat far as I could tell. All in all- it’s about on par with Sonny’s, but if it was located across the street, I’d choose Sonny’s every time."

"cannot say enough good things about our visit here! Rikki was our server and she was amazing, checked on us but not so many times as to interrupt our meal. I saw her doing other tasks around the restaurant and she was in such a good mood, singing and it looked like she was really enjoying her job! how refreshing to see this :) our food came out correctly and tasted great!! would def recommend this location and esp being served by Rikki!!"

"Excellent BBQ! Stopped here passing through and boy I’m glad I did! Perfectly cooked with mild and delicious smokiness. Their sauces are phenomenal and the portions are huge. Lunch was cheap and VERY filling! Service was fantastic! We will definitely returning when in the Ocala area!"
