"1st time dining here. We enjoyed our fish and chips and shepherd's pie. My fish was mooshy in the middle, I just ate around it. Other than that, it was all delicious. It was a cold afternoon, and this just hit the spot! The service was great and our waitress was very friendly."

"I used to come here weekly but haven't been in awhile. I'm not sure what the heck happened but this place has majorly gone down hill. First off I ordered an unsweetened tea. It was so cloudy you couldn't even see thru it. I let it go bc its no biggie. Then we got the mussels for an appetizer. I've gotten these before and there's supposed to be more than 1/4 inch of sauce on the bottom. I said something and the server said yes there should be way more sauce not just a pile of dried up mussels. So they brought about 1/2 inch of sauce in a small cup- whatever. Then I had ordered a WELL DONE burger with onion straws on the side. Nothing else. I have an autoimmune disease so I am pretty picky with what I can/will eat. The burger had been cooked medium rare with tons of pink thru out and blood soaked bun smothered in onion straws..I took pics to post here. Just disgusting. Do not come here. their food has MAJORLY gone down hill and up in price. They can't even properly prepare a meal and are gonna make someone sick. Don't get me started on their spinach salad. They had so much sugar in the dressing it was gritty. And I used to get that all the time it's not how it's supposed to be. **edit** when I brought it to my servers attention she wigged out and got loud so ill be calling the manager tonight."

"This was our first visit to Horse and Hounds. We originally saw it on our way to Cedar Key. After checking out their menu we decided to try it on our way home. We are glad we did. We loved the atmosphere when we walked in. We started with their tomato soup. It was a wonderful surprise. It was light and the fresh tomatoes were obvious. I then had the Shepherd’s Pie. It was meaty and flavorful. My wife ordered a NY Strip medium rare with fries. When the steak came out it was well done no pink on the inside. When we showed our server he immediately took it back and was very apologetic. I was surprised how quickly they brought out another steak with fries. The manger brought it out to us and stayed to make sure it was cooked as ordered. It was a perfect medium rare…..The restaurant then comped us a desert and we had Key Lime Pie. The pie was very good but it was one of the best graham cracker crusts I’ve ever had on a Key Lime pie. I was really impressed with the service. The fact that they were observant and intuitive and we hardly had to say anything for them to know things needed to be corrected is just stellar. This is a diamond for the Ocala community."

"In town visiting family and wanted a place that was dog friendly with great outdoor seating. This placed fit the bill and then some. We had good drinks had our pups on a covered patio with lots of seating. They had a good bar inside with good booth options. Our server was sweet and attentive with good suggestions. Live music outside really made our time there even better. Group favorites include salmon, Cajun pasta, and burgers. Cheers!!"
