Reviews of Foundation Academy, Briarcliff Center
"Our daughter has been coming here since August, and we are thoroughly happy with our experience here! Jativia and Candace have been great, along with all of the other teachers. Everyone there treats your child as if they are their own-and that is all you can ask for in a childcare center!"
"Great place! My son has been going here for almost 8 months and this is the best place we’ve used. Thank you for all your hardwork."
"The children are great the administrations not so much. I worked here as a floater assistant teacher and received nothing but love for the students and families. But received discrimination and lies from the "director". This job is family and friends orientated so it is very messy , the director and co director are bestfriends and the director sister is a lead teacher so you can imagine they break the rules and if u come with a complaint the whole daycare will know your business . If you apply to work here all you will receive is stress, lies, harassment and discouragement. My work ethic was great i did everything asked even if it wasn’t in my job description but to be pushed out the door because of accusations i didn’t do with no proof was crazy. The kids aren't learning and are playing all day because they hired babysitters to baby sit your child. They take kids out the recess 2 or 3 times a day and teach them earlier in the morning for 10 minutes and upload pictures so it look like they are doing something . If you want your child to have a great education and be smart please enroll your child in another daycare ."
"This was our sons very first daycare experience and I’m so sad we moved! My son started here when they first opened in May: At first, it was a little unsettling that he was the only child enrolled, but as more children slowly started enrolling, I saw this place transform into a wonderful childcare facility. The staff and teachers here are so kind and caring. They approach childcare in a very personable way which I greatly appreciate. Being first time parents with a child in daycare for the first time came with a lot of questions and high expectations but, the staff here handled my and my husbands anxiousness with the utmost patience. My son’s vocabulary and independence exploded after going here. The teachers started him potty training early on and my son enjoyed it. They use an app where the teachers send updates throughout the day which is also an added perk. This place might not seem the fanciest but if you want a safe and nourishing environment where your child will thrive, send your child here. Ms. Amelia and Ms. Diamond were so sweet to my son PJ and he loved them back. Since leaving here in October, we enrolled our son at another school that seemed “fancy” and had a lot more to offer but it only made me miss foundation academy more. Since starting, my son hasn’t learned a single new word, color, or number outside of what I teach him at home. He’s made zero progress with his potty training and he has started hitting and saying no! (Montessori school if you’re wondering) Not to mention, this new fancy school makes me feel like he’s just a number. They don’t know my PJ at all and don’t show any interest in getting to know him. We unenrolled him and now we’re looking for another school. The icing on the cake is on our last day, they sent PJ home with a keepsake book that detailed his experience at FA. Complete with pictures and handprints of all his classmates (all 3 lol) Every time I look at it, I cry. I highly recommend this place."
"We recently started our almost 3-year-old son at Foundation academy and would highly recommend. So far, we have really liked our experience. The teachers are wonderful and caring and always have a smile. They are very nurturing and are focusing on potty training and teaching our son basic preschool skills. After being at home for the past two years because of the pandemic, we feel that our son is also learning important social/emotional life lessons at school. They just recently started the school at the Briarcliff location and the teacher to student ratios are great. Also, they use the Abeka curriculum which seems to be working much better than the Montessori curriculum that our older son had at this age. We would highly recommend!"
