Reviews
"So I’m torn on how to properly review this school because some aspects are well above 5 stars. However other aspects are definitely not. To start: my son has been here a year and a half. He started in the 3 year old room and is now in their private pre k program. I’ve experienced other daycare centers from my older daughter, so I have a decent idea of pros and cons vs other centers. I’ll start with the pros. This center is CLEAN. It always smells nice and everything from the reception area, to the classrooms to the playground are all some of the cleanest I’ve seen. And omg the food! They have a chef onsite that creates great, healthy meals for the kids. Even snacks tend to be more on the healthy side. Also most of the teachers are great. Some are extra wonderful and I appreciate the love and patience they have. Another pro is the wonderful activities they provide the kids. Having fire trucks come and dump trucks. Doing class parties and special events for holidays. I love all these things about this school and without the cons, it would be pretty much a perfect daycare/preschool. However there ARE cons. The main one being they close very often. They close on lesser holidays that most people’s workplaces are still open and we have to scramble to find other care. Other daycares in the area don’t close for dates like Columbus Day and Presidents Day. This is a huge inconvenience. For as much as we spend, the more days they close the more not worth it becomes. The fact every other daycare in the area is open for many of these days says a lot. If you work a job that isn’t flexible, this probably isn’t the best center for you due to this. Also, we had an issue in his last class with another parent taking my son’s jacket. It turned into a huge ordeal. The center director at the time got it back, but then the other parent started making veiled threats. And one of the afternoon teachers, who’s no longer with the center, told them whose parent the jacket she had taken was given to. Then my son’s special blanket, another jacket and his sheet all went missing. That parent and their child were asked not to return to the school. Which I appreciate! And the director asked me to bring the jacket back and bought my son a new one. Not sure what that was about. Why not let us keep OUR jacket? But still a nice gesture to buy us another. Then we were told they didn’t know where my son’s blanket, sheet and other jacket went. Even after reviewing the cameras. I told them exactly when they went missing as it had all been there that morning and wasn’t there when I picked him up. We were told we’d be given credit to get a new blanket and sheet, etc but that never happened. I let it go, but I’m still a little salty over them not keeping their end of the bargain as I was very patient through this whole thing. And I still don’t fully believe they don’t know what happened as how does all my child’s things disappear and no one knows where they went when there are two cameras in the classroom? Also another con: they give pre k kids homework. This is a private program that we pay well for. Homework at this age isn’t beneficial. In fact, more and more experts say it’s actually a bad thing to give such young kids homework. And it’s a lot of homework, too. If the state run pre k programs don’t require homework, not sure why they do here. Even one of the teachers confided in me they thought it was ridiculous. So there’s that. I think there’s been quite a bit of pushback though as we haven’t had any since the holidays. But whoevers idea it was in the first place…bad idea. I’d rather my child spend time with family and relax or play after school at 4 years old than have to worry about more work. And last straw that caused me to change my review from 5 to 3 stars is they’re randomly changing billing. They say to reduce confusion, but it’s actually more confusing this way. It’s taken out currently every Wednesday covering the current week. Now they’re switching to Friday the week before, causing this week to have 2 payments taken out."
"My daughter has been here for about a month and I have nothing but wonderful things to say. I feel so confident she is in good hands and I never have to worry. The teachers love the kids and the admins are professional and reasonable."
"Great school, great staff. I randomly decided to read through some of the lower reviews and I have to say it seems that some of them were during a time the school was getting its footing years back. Our four and almost two year old daughters have received excellent care. The teachers still remember our oldest in the hallways years later and stop to talk to her. I've seen them rock our little one in their lap during times she couldn't sleep. I've been notified of every bump on the knee or signs of a cold or fever right away. The fact that a couple teachers can get twelve 18 month olds down to sleep within 10 minutes every day blows my mind. They have control over their classrooms and treat the kids with kindness and love. There's a reason the majority of reviews are high. They should be. If you're lucky to have a spot open, please consider Kids R' Kids of Hamilton Mill and please be patient with the staff as they have quite a list of parents wanting to enroll their kiddos. Best of luck and thanks KRK!"
"I cannot say enough good things about this place. The staff is so friendly and welcoming and learn all of the kids names. The teachers are amazing and really love on the kids. My son has been going here since he was 2 (now 5) and has learned so much from this school. We left for a little bit to try a GA Funded pre-k and it was so bad that we came back and enrolled him in the private pre-k program. He learned more in the 1 month in Mr. Justin's class than he did with his previous pre-k (where he was there for 5 months). Ms. Claudia is another teacher there and my son's teacher from 2-4yrs old and she seriously made his daycare experience so enjoyable. Highly recommend - all the stars!"
"I called the location and asked if the go to Patrick elementary and she said yes. I was confirming it was the right location I told them that their bus is blocking the traffic because it splits in two lanes but the bus driver is driving in the middle. She said that they are new coming there and said she will tell the driver when she gets in. But her tone of voice was off and then I told her I was just informing them and then she told me my tone of voice is being aggressive. I informed her I am on speaker phone and was just informing them. I had no problem with the call until she said I was having an aggressive tone with her. That is not good customer service at all. Myself and my spouse did tour their facility a few years back and heard some unprofessional conversations going on with bad tones. This just confirms we made the right choice to go somewhere else. As you can see from the picture it is obviously two lanes but did not conform chose to block traffic."
