"If you enjoy being made to feel like you are bothering or annoying someone, by all means go to Bowers watch and clock and interact with Michael, he is the poster child for a sour puss. His brother is less foul but I wouldn't drive 40 miles again (like I did) to be treated so poorly. If you hate what you do that much, get out of the business."

"Restored a 100+ year old clock very quickly. Gave two repair and pricing options. The final cost was exactly as estimated. Both men running the shop were kind and thorough, and took time to discuss the options, and show me how to operate the repaired clock. Thank you!"

"I had a problem with my watch band. The release clasp no longer held. I had gone to the Fix it Fast repair shop in Lenox where the guy said it would cost a hundred dollars to repair and that if I wanted a new one, I should order it from Amazon. I took it to Bowers and one of the two brothers came out, looked at my watch band, bent a little part of it and fixed it in about fifteen seconds. I have been treated rudely there on occasion, in the past, but today was a good day. My concluding point is that although you may have to put up with some moodiness, if you want somebody that knows clocks and watches, you can’t beat Bowers."

"Clearly something has happened to Michael. For well over a decade, he has been extremely nice and a pleasure to deal with, but today I had the same type of unpleasant experience that several other reviewers have had in recent months. I asked why the charge for replacing five watch batteries was almost 50% higher than the price listed on their website. He was rude, abusive, and said that the website was out of date as if it were my fault rather than theirs. All this for merely asking if the reason for the extra charge was that some of my watches required special batteries or work. If I had actually complained instead of just inquiring, lord only knows what he would have done. Time to find a new watch repair team."

"The proprietor was rude and dismissive from the moment I first walked into this shop to leave my watch for a battery replacement. I was told that he would call me when the watch was ready. After not hearing anything from the store for over a week, I went to pick up my watch. First the proprietor could not find the watch. Then he gave me the watch (which I expected had not had the battery replaced because he did not call me to say the work was completed). He said there was no charge. I then noted that the battery had been replaced and offered to pay for the service. He still said there was no charge. This was good because when I got home and attempted to set the date on the watch, I discovered that the stem is stuck and cannot be pulled out to set the date or the time. So my watch is broken and I will have to take it to a reputable watch repair shop if I want to be able to use it in the future. There was NOTHING wrong with the watch stem when it was left at the shop. I would urge anyone in the strongest possible terms NOT to do business with the company. Update: the reputable watch repair shop gave an estimate of $315 to fix the watch that Bowers broke."
