Reviews
"For approximately six +years, I've been purchasing groceries from a Spot rd stand, enjoying a valuable experience and a friendly welcome. The vendor provides insightful advice and when to consume the purchases."
"I finally went to the Spot Road Fruit Stand after living in the area for a couple years. I am remiss that I did not start shopping here sooner. High quality, delicious local/regional produce without the highway robbery prices of the chain grocery stores. Whole Foods only wishes their produce was as good as this. I enjoy talking to Mr. Mike when I am there. I’m a little bothered by the reviews on here speaking negatively of him because I find him down to earth and rusticly gentlemanly."
"I just had the most bizarre experience after frequenting this stand every week for years. I was yelled at for picking up and choosing tomatoes out of the baskets. Mike was EXTREMELY rude. I was embarrassed because I didn't know, and he just kept lighting into me no matter how much I apologized. Then he told me to never come back again. (You couldn't pay me to go back) He is either a rotten old drunk, or he has dementia and is losing his mind. I'm shaken from being spoken to like that. He is a miserable old man and he should be ashamed at himself for verbally attacking a woman who was just picking up tomatoes and who has supported his business for years."
"They have such a unique variety of salsas & jams. I bought the Peach Salsa and loved it so much that I made a special trip back to buy more! The fruit was fresh and good also. The gentleman who owned the fruit stand had been in business there for over 25 years. Great little country place!!"
"So the good news is that the produce appears to be fresh and delicious and I can vouch for the peanuts. They are very good! The bad news, as has been mentioned before, the gentleman running the stand may have some issues. A word of advice... If you cannot get there at least 30 minutes before he closes, do not come at all! He will likely be rather angry This is happened to me twice now where I showed up as he was closing. Are used to live down the road from here and have bragged on the peanuts to my girlfriend so we stopped by on the way to a party to pick some up to share. someone warned us as we were walking up that he was closing so I asked if he would mind selling us a couple bags of peanuts. Rather than simply say no like a sane person would, he rambled on The entire time about how he wanted to leave and didn’t need the money. We actually originally we’re going to get one bag but I increase the order to two just to try to make it a little more worth him staying the extra 90 seconds it took to fill the back. We kept trying to keep it pleasant and show gratitude but he was having none of that. In summary, really good peanut butter arrive early or bring Xanax"
