"We brokered a load out of this facility near 2 weeks ago. We called ahead, knowing that we would be early to check and see if the load would be ready early and if not then ask if we could camp put on site till it was. They said no, the load wasnt ready, but we could show uo early though and wait. We showed up at noon for a 10 pm pickup, so it wasnt unreasonable for the load to not be ready. We show up, they have us park and come into the guard shack to verify information, pretty standard. After about 10 min. We are informed the load was canceled. And they claimed it was canceled days ago, so they werent going to pay any fees. Never mind the fact that they we literally that morning called ahead to verify everything. Carries like this are annoying. When they drop the ball, they expect you to just be ok with it. Nevermind how it messes with your bottom line. Who cares about the extra miles we drove to get to their facility, or the other loads we passed up on after booking this load. I guess the bigger you get, the less you care about the people who helped get you there"
"I utilized the services from Abf through Upack. I had never heard of this company before and when I contacted Upack they indicated that they were a subsidiary of their company. U-pack indicated that there would be “no Extra fees or hidden charges. “ Well apparently Abf did not get the memo! They failed to provide all of the supplies that were required for me to have my movers pack the pod more securely. The bulkhead should have been included with the empty trailer along with the ramp and the straps. I was advised by the Driver and then later confirm by management at ABF that this was standard procedure for their company to include those items. They were not inside my trailer prior to having my movers load the trailer. This is a safety issue. I am not a professional mover nor wore my movers that helped me load the trailer. This is why the driver asked why I did not utilize them. It was because they include it usually with the trailer pod. However, I realized when loading a pod or trailer independently it is required to Pack as much as you can into boxes. This will provide greater protection for your belongings and will make loading your PODS container easier. My movers were in Compliance to this requirement. Since this was my first time utilizing a pod service, I was unaware until it was brought to my attention by the ABF driver that Picked up the trailer, by the way – two days after they were supposed to pick it up, that there was some missing materials that were missing which would have helped secure my items better inside the truck. He asked me where the above referenced Additional securement-items That ABF usually provides for its customers. I advised him that they were not provided by Abf. I also told the driver that the only items that were supplied inside my trailer pod was the ramp. Since I was relocating out of state and had a job waiting for me, I was pressed for time and could not change the company at the last minute. A female From Abf called me upon the arrival with my trailer/pod to their company. Abf Threatened to not take my items that were already packed on the trailer pod if I did not have someone come down to their establishment and repack everything! She was very rude and condescending. She stated that I “should have known” that I could not pack the pod trailer without the missing securement. I advised her that this was my first time and no one told me nor did they leave the materials. The only items that were provided by ABF were the tiedowns attached inside the pod trailer and the ramp. I ended up speaking to one of the managers about my dilemma. Explaining that my vehicle was secured on a Penske truck trailer and I did not feel comfortable detaching the trailer to drive over to the establishment and re-pack my entire trailer pod! After complaining about the woman who called me and Her condescending rudeness toward me to one of the managers, I was placed on hold. When he came back to the phone, they added on extra over $2000+ For rental of the entire truck and apparently For their mistake of not providing me with the proper materials! They also wanted the money upfront knowing full well that I had explained I had a job waiting for me and needed to move at a certain time out of state. I could have purchased a whole other apartment full of furniture for over $4000. This does not coincide with the promise from Upack who hired these guys that there would be no hidden fees or anything! The only good part of this is that the driver who drove to My new location was very nice and very professional. I asked them to credit me for their mistake and they declined. They were more interested in sucking as much money out of me if they could! They are rip off artists! I would not utilize this company again. They cost me financial issues with the cost of relocating out of state. They put me in a bad financial situation by charging me the extra 2000+ dollars for the truck rental. Good luck if you choose to do so. Perhaps they may be better with just local transport."
"Good experience with this shipper would definitely come back again easy in easy out good respectable people that will get you in and out atleast the early morning shift."
"I haven't had anything delivered by semi to my rural address in a long time but I have a lot of sympathy for truck drivers having backed my 30 ft 5th wheel RV up a driveway with 2 90° turns. Everybody was helpful at ABF arranging for the delivery. The tracking at their website said awaiting delivery AND out for delivery on the appointed day, so I got a clarification from the pleasant Angela. 1 hour before delivery I received a recorded notice of that timeline, and within 1 hour the driver called me and I met him on our road to transfer the load into my pickup. Everything was done seamlessly."
"So I would like to start this out by saying that a 1 star review in my opinion is one of the worst things you can do to a business so when necessary and only necessary should it be done. Well it's earned properly. I paid extra money for expedition a lot extra so it was supposed to arrive Friday January 6th awesome on time. Then I got a call from someone saying it was going to be postponed until Monday. So today I checked it said all day that my package was out for delivery until 5:44 it says that it's not being dropped off I paid extra for expedition extra for a gated truck for what to be told on the phone that I need to call tomorrow and set up another delivery time I waited all day at home from work shame on this company for awful service."
