"This company may be good for long term business needs, but I purchased a consulting session for a particular question and was shocked by how unhelpful and unresponsive my experience was. The accountant never directly answered my question, after several attempts to get him to clarify and commit to the answer. It didn't seem like he even read my initial e-mail and attachments. I asked him to confirm in writing because he verbally instructed that we did not need to pay a tax. It seemed suspicious to us that he verbally told us we did not need to pay it but wouldn't confirm that in writing. All our e-mails confirm these facts. We had hired him based on the good reviews and his expected expertise in this matter and are just thankful we didn't lose more than the $250 "consultation fee" and a few hours of our time because this is definitely not someone we could rely on for answers. Update: Warning: After I left this review of my experience, the partner left a retaliatory negative review for our company. If I could post our e-mail exchange, it would be apparent where the problem lies, but I'm concerned that he would use this tactic to make up for his lack of service instead of addressing the underlying issue. While the response below is well articulated and helpful, I wish he had put this much thought and energy into our original question. And I'm not sure where in our e-mail exchange he thought I wasn't taking his advice, because all of my requests were requests for information and help. There was no other discussion. His implications otherwise are retaliatory."
