"It is disgusting and shameful how your staff participated in racial profiling. A young black man came into your store and purchased several printers. At the cash register, he entered the wrong pin number, and you all consider that scamming and called the other stores to alert them. #1 I have entered the incorrect pin number for a debit card before it could be that I press the wrong number. It could be because of the keys being sticky. It might even be that I forgot which card I was using at the time that is not a reason to profile a person. #2 you were able to call the other store the one that he was going to next to alert them that he was on his way. How many people breaking the law tells you where they are headed next? Does that even make sense? #3 in many stores your credit card or debit card brings up previous purchases did you all not look into that to see if this was a legit customer before jumping to conclusions? The most important thing to realize is that you put this young Black man’s life at risk. How traumatizing to him and his family and loved ones. It’s disappointing for sure! To the higher ups at Office Depot. You all need to do what you can to make this right. The victim of this racial profiling needs to have whatever supports and requests satisfied. Your staff needs to undergo anti-bias training, and to realize the impact of racial profiling. You all profiled , the wrong one ! He deserves justice- I will take my business elsewhere."
"If I could give this store a zero I would. It is shame that you work hard and come to spend your hard earned money in a store as other ethnic groups do only to be racially profiled because your black & have money to but multiple items. I’m very disappointed in Office Depot/ Office Max as a company, as a brand! That you would call the police on a young black man, putting his life in danger. Your manager Skye should be fired!! And the employees too if they had anything to do with this. I will not step foot into this location in this life time. I’m disgusted that In 2023 there in no growth on this world & we are still dealing with this! Office Depot your customers that really keep your business doors open (black/African American people) we are disappointed with you! My suggestion & opinion is to not shop here. They do not deserve our business!"
"I just got word that a Manager by the name of Skye called the police on a young man picking up printers for his mom who is on bed rest. This young man was racially profiled and treated like a criminal by police because of the actions of an employee. This is completely unacceptable not only by the manager, the company as well as the police for the handling of this entire situation!! Everyone involved must be reprimanded!!!!"
"So today SKYE the store manager called the police on a young customer that was buying sublimation printers for his mom who runs a successful business. He has the receipts for the printer but he was cornered by the police and searched. Even asked if he had a gun. Let’s please keep in mind he had receipts. All because of the store manager skye. This story could have went a while different way."
"I liked shopping at B&M locations of OD for both the company I work for and my personal needs because of price and product selection. Unfortunately, they have closed the two stores closest to me (Chamblee and Sandy Springs) so for my restock and less than critical need items, I no longer shop there as the next closest location is 30 minutes or more away through a heavily trafficked corridor. I will only shop there for critically needed items."
