"When I and some of my family first got our hair done by Maria, we were initially very impressed with her. She seemed quite knowledgeable with her craft, and it was a relief to have finally found someone that knew what they were doing. However, in the past two years, attempting to schedule an appointment with Maria had become quite problematic. She was rarely available in person and when you call the salon it goes directly to an answering machine and you have to wait to get a call back. The main reason for this review is due to Maria's appalling behavior toward myself and my 77-year-old mother that merely wanted a haircut before her birthday this coming Saturday. Some time ago, I had made an honest mistake and had a mix-up with the day we were scheduled to visit with Maria and ended up missing our appointment entirely due to a conflicting doctors appointment. I called several times and went in person over to her salon in an attempt to fix this error. As per usual, Maria was not there. Nor did she respond to any of the apologetic messages I had left. When I walked into Maria's Salon today, the last thing I expected was to be pulled to the side by Maria herself and told that she could not do our hair anymore because we had missed "too many" appointments. When I tried to talk this out, Maria said the day we missed our appointment she had to wait a whole two hours for us and that her time was very valuable. Additionally, I was told if I really wanted to schedule an appointment, they would have to be prepaid, or I could just do a walk-in for her even though there is no way to predict when she will be there. I cannot begin to convey the level of disrespect and embarrassment I felt in this moment; simply due to one missed appointment. I understand that her time is very valuable, but it is no more valuable than anyone else. This is not how you run a business, and her behavior today was not the way you treat people let alone paying customers. I have never had something like this happen to me before, and I never usually bother writing reviews, but turning away my mother like that before her birthday was beyond unprofessional."
