Center Bar

"This review is not a reflection of The Works, as I enjoy coming here. The food hall is great, the people are mostly pleasant and they have pretty cool retail shops too. However, on my visit today, I went to The Center Bar located inside of the food hall, greeted the bartender then asked if I may purchase 2 ginger-ales. In return, I received what was by FAR the nastiest service I’ve ever had, all unprovoked and unwarranted. It wasn’t clear at first if she was just having a bad day, or if she just didn’t want me in her face. But she was very short & snappy in the very little she did say back, & she barely acknowledged me, yet, she selectively gave more welcoming interactions & smiles to others in passing/leaving the bar. It felt a lot like she thought lesser of me without actually verbalizing it, but her body language & attitude pretty much confirmed everything else. Very uncomfortable experience. She tells me the total for the ginger ale, and because I just so happen to have cash in my pocket, I pull it out and attempt to hand it to her first, & she abruptly says we don’t take cash. I had my debit card also, but at that point, I was just ready to go. The drinks had been poured but I was so repulsed, & taken back by her terrible service (& even just her lack of basic kindness & human decency), that I didn’t even want to patron the establishment & so I didn’t. Knowing that this is the kind of people they allow to work at what I initially thought was such a nice bar was enough for me to never return. I wish I knew how to get ahold of the Management team because an evaluation of who they allow to bartend (especially to the public) should absolutely be reconsidered if they act like that. She is going to run customers away."

"The old hag working the bar gives the WORST customer service I have ever experienced. When we asked anything about the drinks, she wouldn't answer and just handed us a menu, as if she couldn't be bothered with any questions and obviously hates her job. It wasn't like the bar was even busy, but she was clearly annoyed by our presence. I witnessed her treating other customers the same way. In order to have a successful bar business.. you need bartenders with a personality. She left an impression for sure.. and it was horrible."

"Love it here, come every time i get my nails done. Jael and another male bartender are FANTASTIC. Friendly, make drinks with ease and love, makes it enjoyable to stay and have a couple of drinks, instead of rushing out."

"The bar wasn’t busy. Nobody approached me and my friend. I had to ask for Assitance and the bartender was very rude. She made one drink and did not approach me again. Very poor experience."

"Drinks were flavorful, slightly weak and small quantity overfilled with ice, but overall good taste. Service was a bit slow on a Thursday night with 4-5 bartenders."
