"I worked with Suzette J. Lawler Sankar, Psy.D., LPC while she was decent at being a therapist for the few sessions we had, she is not great about explaining her price and payment systems. During the process of seeing her I started with a health savings account and ended up depleting the balance faster then expected. I made sure to ask how things would move forward, what the payments would be and if there is an option for a payment plan. I was told yes there was a payment plan option however I was not told a certain amount needed to be paid or informed of how much each session was. The biggest factor is I was also not informed that the money would be taken from my account automatically. At that point there's no need for a payment plan right? So I updated my payment information after explaining how I'm financially struggling due to changes to Suzette who even informed the payment plan was ok, I found out the hard way that was not entirely accurate. I was never explained about the automatic payments so to my horror a large amount of money was taken from me after I made the payment I could. I reached out to Suzette but was meet with a few hours of silence only to be told "oh yeah when your over due the payments are deducted from the card automatically" ......well that would have been nice to know right? I agree, but that answer was generic "it's in the policy" well didnt you read the fine print you ask? Well yes of course I tried but here's the thing, she was on the phone talking to me the entire time while I completing the onboarding process. so it could have been something I entirely overlooked due to being distracted by the conversation. But even after going back to Suzette with all this information I was meet with cold responses and even being ignored. I disputed the charges with my bank due to the circumstances of fully needing the balance taken and not agreeing to automatic payments deducted and being told the payment plan was in fact an option. I was told by Suzette that I would be refunded but only a partial balance even after making the payment I could. Only to find out that she in fact went back on her word and NEVER even refunded me. I felt incredibly ripped off, unheard regarding the fact that im struggling and did what I could even after telling her multiple times that the appointments needed to slow down and be spaced out. She said she was willing to work with me but her actions showed otherwise. I am no longer doing business with her for this reason, again she's decent at what she does (there are times when she's clearly distracted and not listening to you but I guess those times she had busy days I don't really know but the light from her computer gave her away she kept going back to it and it wasn't to take notes those she wrote down never typed) but outside of that the only issue I have is the way she commitcated with me after I disputed with my bank, like I was the problem and she needed to correct me, her explanations/communication regarding her billing price and billing systems, agreeing to payment options then going back on her word and saying "well the system will take over due balances automatically" isn't a payment plan in anyway shake it form. Maybe she doesn't understand her billing system enough, again I don't know. I'm just providing my experience so no one else has to go through financial hardship even after being told things can be worked out. Make sure she explains it all to you before you even go through the first appointment because my experience is the money was far more important then taking care of me as a client"
