"Everything about this place is great. Started off with the appetizer trio. The jalapeño poppers and corn bites were good, but the fried pickles were GREAT. For my meal, I had the bang bang shrimp. It was a generous portion and was a great texture of lightly fried shrimp. Will absolutely return here."

"I was in the area for work around lunch time and since I have only been here once yearrrrs ago I decided to stop in. I was seated quickly and service was super friendly throughout. They were out of smoked mullet so no dip and out of the swamp cabbage which I was curious about. The sweet tea was perfect with crushed ice! I decided on the small platter with some fried and blackened items, awesome that you can mix that up. The food was mostly okay and nothing to write home about. Blackened Shrimp were overcooked, fried oysters were not crispy and had weird rubbery parts, scallops were good (smaller bay scallops but that’s what we get here and I like em!), the fish on the platter was a strange imported fish I hadn’t heard of before and was meh, the crab cake bites were okay, I enjoyed the take on hush puppies, and fries were good. The comeback or remoulade sauce they had on the plate was pretty great. The grits were okay but oily. From other reviews it seems like I’m in the minority but I’m just giving my experience. I understand this place is basically an institution in the area and honesty there isn’t much else in town but I was not impressed with the food or the atmosphere. Just not for me."

"Deals is an excellent place to check out if your in the area. The staff that work there are among some of the finest people you'll ever meet. Amazingly friendly and very attentive. All the food we got was very fresh and very hot. The raw oysters were super good and served very promptly. Id highly recommend checking this place out and for no other reason, because "Only the finest people in the world walk through those doors"."
