"This place smells cigarette inside, and who doesn't smoke or have lung disease can not be holding that; like me."
"So far it great . My son has been so much better seens we have been going"
"My therapist here is WONDERFUL! The reception staff is always nice and helpful. HOWEVER. You are required to see the psychiatrist once a year. I went for my first visit with Dr. Geddam, and we started going over medical history. I tell her I had a series of strokes last fall. "Mini-strokes," she corrects me. "You had mini-strokes." "No," I said, "they were full on strokes." "You couldn't have had real strokes or you wouldn't be up walking around," she says. I'm a nurse with an extensive ER background. So I start saying, "mini-strokes are T.I.A.s or transient ischemic attacks and-" "I KNOW WHAT TIAs ARE!!" This woman who I'm meeting for the first time, who has never seen my medical records, is insisting I haven't had strokes and is now yelling at me. And now I'm mad too. "So do I!" I snap back. "And you're welcome to call my neurologist or look at my MRI, both of which say actual strokes. I have physical and cognitive issues from repeat lacunar infarcts... strokes. My basal ganglia looks like Swiss cheese." "Well I'm not going to continue to sit here and argue about it with you today," she sneers back. And she continued sneering for the rest of the visit. Then she prescribed me something for "my agitation." God only knows what total garbage she put in my medical record. I left extremely upset. After the visit, seeking some closure, I emailed her my MRI report and a link explaining that the clinical difference between TIAs and strokes is that TIAs leave no permanent damage. I figured she would respond with an apology, or at least acknowledgment, but she ignored it. I've complained twice in writing to Highland Rivers about this and they've ignored me too. Let's put this into perspective. This woman is a PSYCHIATRIST. Paid to help vulnerable persons with their mental health. She screamed at me, medically gaslit me about a serious diagnosis that was made by specialists without reviewing my medical records first, and clearly doesn't know the basics about brain conditions that tie in to mental health issues like stroke. There is no way in HELL I would permit this pathetic excuse for a healthcare professional to be involved in my care. Since she's the only on-site psychiatrist, you're stuck with her or telehealth until that ends. I'm currently attempting to get in with Dr. Goyne, but there's a half year wait. If you're considering seeing Highland Rivers for mental healthcare, you should be aware that there's a chance this doctor will treat you like garbage, be unprofessional, lacks empathy, and doesn't particularly know what she's doing. Do you want someone like this prescribing you brain-altering drugs? Highland Rivers should review the other complaints on here because I'm certainly not the only one who has had a poor experience. Dalton deserves better. This was the absolute WORST experience I have ever had with a doctor."
"This office sucks. The therapist told my partner that she didn’t find him to be worth her time and closed his case. He needed to be seen by the dr to get his meds they told him he’d have to start the process over again. So he’ll be waiting a week to a month to get the help he needs. I hate this place. They do not care about you at all. The therapist spent the whole time talking about her problems not his. How is that helpful to him?"
