"Took my best friend and her sister to brunch here while they were in town visiting from Detroit. We all agreed that the food tasted great and that we would definitely return! I had the salmon croquettes and a side of bussin corn muffins, they were delicious!! Our server was very nice, attentive and helpful. Def must try this restaurant if you're in the ATL!! I've also been to dinner at their other location a couple years ago and it was great then as well!!"
"Finally got to try this restaurant and I must say the wait was worth it. The atmosphere is inviting everyone was really nice, I enjoyed the A la carte options, the Fush and Geeche grits and the cornbread muffins. My friend had the After Church sampler. Vinchi was our waiter and he was awesome, he was working the bar and our table and maintained great customer service. I had another event to go to so I got some ziplock bags to take some muffins home. This now on my favorite restaurant list. Please stop by."
"This place was pretty good. We went around the time they first opened for breakfast. The staff was really friendly and we sat at the bar. I ordered an Arnold Palmer with the Shrimp and grits. It says it has “crab gravy” so I assumed it would have actual crab meat in it. I was a little annoyed by that, but the grits were good. My friend ordered fried fush and spinach on the side. She said the spinach was alright and the fush seemed like a smaller portion than expected. I would try another time to test out some more menu items like the muffins, crab rice, and fried cabbage."
"This restaurant has been on my list for a while so hubby and I decided to check it out for date night. There’s a paid parking lot close by to park, my husband dropped me off at the front. This place is kinda small so I’m glad we had reservations in formation! We were seated upstairs which had a different ambiance than downstairs. We ordered the egg rolls as our app and we ordered a la carte for our entrees which included the deviled crab, fried shrimp, fried fish and crab rice with sides of greens and mac n cheese. Our food was pretty tasty. The rice could have used more love but overall a good experience at this restaurant! There’s dope artwork upstairs, great for a nice photo op!"
"Bridgett the host pretty much ran the restaurant herself. Our waiter was EJ. He had a poor attitude and wasn't attentive at all. He didn't want to take our orders and when he finally did he was sighing like it was a bother. The pork chops were delicious 4/5. I wish it had onions. The wings were good too, 4/5 but it could have more sauce without tossing them. But the cabbage was poor tasting in quality. The cabbage was served hard and dry. I did not eat it. With Black own restaurants I'm more understanding, so I didn't ask the manager to take it off. The mac was just ok. The cheese was too hard and heavy at the top. The catfish tasted as if it wasn't cooked all the way through. It took Bridgett the host over 5 mins to find us silverware because EJ was nowhere to be found. We just started eating with our hands because the food was getting cold. Bridgett handled all our refills and brought us napkins when wr asked because our meals were brought out without silverware, napkins, salt or black pepper. The restaurant had no black pepper. They forgot part of our order. The quality of service was poor that day. The manager-in-training came to our table to ask how our meals were. I explained about EJ. She said she'd talk with him. I saw her pull him to the side. For the last few mins, he finally came to collect the check and asked if we needed a to-go containers. It's Black own, so we always make it a point to tip regardless of service but his service was disappointing. I may visit again only because Bridgett did her best to right EJ's wrongs by acting as our server in addition to the hosting she was doing. But, if I do, I'll definitely make sure I'm not in EJ's section because he definitely set this whole thing off with a poor attitude and it only went downhill from there."
