"I was referred to Amy for EMDR to work through extensive trauma and from moment one, she was able to create a safe space for me. Amy is able to build rapport and create an environment conducive to healing that only gets better with each session. Amy walks with me through my journey and has been a source of strength and comfort through some very difficult sessions. I am so thankful to have found her and can not recommend her highly enough. As a therapist myself, it is not easy to find someone who can show up so fully and genuinely. Amy is that person. While I know my journey is a long one, I feel more empowered with her by my side."
"I came to Amy for EMDR, which is her specialty and the main thing she advertises on her website. I read a lot about the practice before going, and know people who have done EMDR, and nothing about the way Amy runs her practice is congruent with 99% of what EMDR typically is. Most EMDR specialists do an intake session and immediately begin EMDR, and “EMDR intensives” are a thing, and do not require weeks of meeting with someone before trying EMDR techniques. Amy, however, claims that clients need to “feel comfortable” first, i.e. spend upwards of $1000 before even getting to try EMDR. She did not tell me any of this on our intake session, which was also supposed to be 90 minutes per her website, but was only one hour. In our third and last session - and the reason I will not be going back - Amy spoke to me in an incredibly condescending manner after I balked at having yet ANOTHER session where we did not do the described EMDR therapy she had told me we would “do next time” in the previous two sessions. She told me I was “desperate” for a “quick fix,” that I “ran hot” as a person, and was “too stressed out” to do EMDR, claiming I needed to keep coming back several more times and spend $175 an hour before she felt she could “ethically treat me.” Amy literally talked to me for three hours over the course of six weeks and has no idea who I am as a person. I am an intelligent, successful, productive individual who has no history of mental illness other than anxiety, and I specifically sought out EMDR after finding talk therapy to be inefficient for my own personal needs. I do not allow people to speak to me in that manner, much less a therapist to whom I am paying copious amounts of money in order to help me be a better person and achieve my goals. She did not make me feel safe, seen, or heard, and I am frankly disgusted by this whole ordeal. I know EMDR is what I need, but instead of listening to me and trusting me as her client, Amy exploited my already meager pocketbook and left me with nothing but a sour taste in my mouth for yet another “therapist.” Run far away."
"Amy is a fantastic therapist. She holds space for all your emotions and circumstances while also keeping it light and real. Full of interventions and strategies for life's problems. She really is the best at walking through life with you. Oh, also her office is so beautiful and comfy!"
"Amy is by far the BEST therapist I have worked with and believe me, I've worked with A LOT! I reached out to Amy on a recommendation from a trusted friend who knows me well. I'm so thankful I did. Amy is honest and straightforward, she shows empathy and understanding while continuing to lovingly hold me accountable for my BS. She pushes me to become the woman I am meant to be. When I started I was so lost. I know I had struggles and issues with BIG FEELINGS but had no idea how to work through them. Amy helped me find therapies that worked best for me and helped me understand what was going on with me. I'm finally off the hamster wheel and starting on a path forward. We have a lot more work to do but with Amy I know i can face it. If you're struggling and need someone who can hold your hand while pushing you forward then I highly recommend Amy."
"Absolutely the best counselor I’ve had. Amy takes time, listens, and ensures that the person is in control of how the session goes. I have recommended her to anyone who has asked me for guidance in finding a counselor. Amy is so knowledgable, but real about everything which makes it so easy to make progress in each session."
