"very rude staff and people. i say support the arts but do NOT support atlanta ballet and its people."
"So, first of all, it’s been a long time since I’ve been able to go to the Ballet. I have been busy, life gets in the way, and I work more than I take time to myself for experiences and such and the like. Which means when I see a show, a movie, an experience or what have you, I’m hoping it’s somewhere on that “Hey that’s pretty good” to “You know what, not bad” line that so much media strives to hit. I’m happy to say that the productions of Atlanta Ballet’s production of Don Quixote that I attended on March 18, 2023 hits the former. I’d even venture as far as to say “Wow, that was really nice,” which is quite an achievement. I’ve been to several ballets, so I’m quite the expert, no need for questions or credentials, so trust me when I say this was a tour de force, a triumph of the human spirit, and just a nifty time all around for the family. The set and costume design is nice, the colors of the dancers really stand out and pop against the backdrop that captures that old Spanish/Spaghetti Western vibe. The dancers are top notch, and I would even go as far as inspiring in the two performances I saw. The orchestra played great, I like any piece that has a feature with the performance mark “Play Trumpet Badly,” and the the trumpet played badly really well. The parts that weren’t supposed to be bad were also really good. I’ve never read Don Quixote, it’s really long, but I imagine that the story captured here portrays it pretty well. I’d like to see more Don Quixote fighting crime or solving mysteries with Sancho Panza, but I understand that turns it more into a Batman Ballet so I’ll give a pass there. I think the Horse should have a solo at the end when everybody celebrates the wedding, that would be pretty cool I think. Ooh, also, instead of the weird green dragon projection I think there should be a guy dressed like a windmill that beats up Don Quixote before he goes into that sick Spider-Man backflip, that would really crank it up a notch I think. Overall, the show really captures that overarching theme of love conquering all even in the face of overwhelming odds, imagination being one of the most powerful forces that unite us as people, and the dangers of fighting a windmill in a lightning storm with a bedpost. Eleven out of ten, but bring back Mother Ginger."
"1 September 2022 In spite of repeated requests to cease communication, I continue to get mailers from this organization. Could a representative get my name and mailing address out of the system ? After our negative experience, I have no interest with anything related to the Atlanta Ballet!!! ‐-----‐-----------------‐--------------------------------- In retrospect, my daughters' experience was disappointing and negative due to bullying from other girls towards my youngest daughter. Because my husband and I spoke up to getting it handled, it affected my oldest daughter not getting her scholarship renewed for the next year."
"Gorgeous studio and excellent adult ballet classes from Harmony. Well worth the money spent. I look forward to coming every week!"
"We only did one year and the comments made to my child made her not want to pursue ballet… she’s been dancing since 3 and had a lot more experience and skills than the other girls in her class but was not moved up. Everyone who’s seen the recital video can clearly see my child was on another dance level than her entire class! I will never support anything from this company I’m glad my child made it through the year she was there."
