The Hartford

"If you file for a short term disability claim, I hope you don't need money for a whole month or so! My husband had no money for doctors appointments or his medication thanks to this company. Most people who miss work and have to file are sick or have been in the hospital. Meaning they will need money for follow up appointments and will need to pay for medications they may need to get filled. People depend on this money! Couldn't make rent payment or give our kids a Christmas all because we keep getting the run around. They will say anything you want to hear to get off the phone with you. They lie and move on to the next person. We are on week 4 still waiting. To the employees of this pathetic company, get a new job if you can't or don't want to do your job here. I will say, There was ONE lady who was very empathetic towards our situation and did get back with my husband but that was ONE out of at least 25 people. People who are put in these life changing positions and are not able to work for a period of time, should never have to worry about money like this! DO BETTER!!"

"This company has put me through the !!WORST!! experience I have ever had! The call center I don’t know why they have one all they do is transfer you knowing the person Not gone pick up! It’s ridiculous I have left messages voicemails multiple times!!!!NOTHING!! It’s been almost two months and still nothing!!"

"Hartford is terrible!! I've been helping my friend with her Short Term disability claim and this company has been giving her the run-around and lying to her about approval dates and when she'd recieve money for 31/2 months!! They hindered her from being able to see doctors because she was unable to afford the co-pays for specialist during a severe neck herniation and other major health issues. They put her behind on all her household bills, caused lated fees, and she almost lost her home without rent money. When she tried to get assistance the Hartford reps literally THREATENED her on the phone to not approve her claim and were extremely hateful!! They tried to intimidate her! I've personally used to have Aflac and they had me receiving payments within a week.. not saying they're perfect, but any other company besides Humana and Hartford are a better option. I've never seen two more poorly ran companies. Hartford tries to give you the run around with lies until you give up."

"Terrible experience! I was in the market for a business policy. You would think I'd get the red carpet? Oh no. I got a carpet leading me to an endless cycle of call transfers, nauseating hold music, and incompetence in the call center. Calls were dropped after waiting 20 plus minutes, representatives were transferring me around like a hockey puck. I spent about 2 hours attempting to get a new policy set up. I'm not convinced that this is just one giant phone system loop."
