"I was very worried about sending my 7th grader to Stephenson especially coming from the charter school environment. It was a wonderful decision for my daughter. The principle and his staff are consistently stern with the middle schoolers (Which I love); order and discipline is a clear priority. There are fights here and there however are handle rapidly. One of the things I was most fearful of was classroom sizes. My daughter never had more than 18 students in any of her classes, where as she had 35 in her Charter school class!! Because it is Title 1, there are so many great programs to ensure diverse learning and time is taken to ensure students learn IN CLASS rather than thousands of hours of homework just to appear that the charter school is doing more. My daughter has grown and learned tremendously at Stephenson- about life and accountability."

"Stephenson middle school is one of the worst middle schools in Dekalb county!! The school has a cockroach infestation, the bathrooms are always disgusting and not stocked accordingly. Many teachers give you book work and sit at their desk and do nothing, they are disrespectful and petty. They only come to get paid and lower student self-esteem. Many of the students are rude and disrespectful toward peers and staff. Bullying is a daily occurrence at this establishment and the staff do nothing to stop it. Their are fights about every week. I say the only decent thing about this school is the band. I strongly advise you not to enroll your child here. Please pick a better, more organized school, so your child can have the best possible education. P.S. If you are in the band do expect to be cursed at..."

"Stephenson has its ups and downs, but at the end of the day, this school is pretty good. Yeah, we might have a lot of fights, but that doesn't clearly represent our school. Stephenson is a different environment from where you doesn't go. the principal is amazig. The school is sometimes overpriced, the food is ok, and there's a lot of bugs, but i'm hoping that the school is working on getting those issues fixed. Overall, Stephenson has soe issues that cna be solved, but it is a wonderful school. #GoJags!!!!"
