"Worst experience ever! During lunch they yell at your kids! In class they yell at your kids! And I was standing right there so imagine if there were no parents around. Those teachers at E.L. Miller, especially first grade has the worst educators possible. There was only one that seemed to care and that was Ms. Smith. The principal looks and acts like he just wants the check! Ridiculous! Just think twice about sending your babies to those people. Definitely not a loving and caring environment."
"I loved this school. I recently moved back to Gwinnett, but im a little sad to move them. My daughters teachers were great especially Ms. Smith in first grade, and the front office staff were always so nice. I don't care for Dekalb schools but this one was great!"
"The entire staff have gone down hill!!!!! Like most lower income DeKalb county schools if your child has any behavior abnormalities they are discarded without addressing the underlying issue, which leads me to believe they are their for a paycheck. ********QUALITY EDUCATORS MAKE A HUGE DIFFERENCE************ Counselor (s) are there but they do nothing?? The teachers talk about the students in a negative way directly in front of the student to other teachers. Parent/teacher conferences are a joke, teachers are unable to give make up work for missing and or misunderstood assignments? When assignments are turned in, if incorrect they are given back to the child and told you get a 0, why not take the time to figure out what happened in the learning process of this particular curriculum. Children are being bullied and no one seems to see a thing and they down play things. A child can tell when they are cared about, its truly disheartening when a child feels as if they have been given up on, as is the case at E.L. Miller. IF your child is a perfect angel, this may be the school for them, I'm sure they will be teacher's pet in no time!!! *****On a positive note, the schools appearance and smell have improved for the better. From 2005-2013 E.L. Miller was an excellent learning environment*****"
"My three younger children attended this school from October 2014 to May 2015 and in that short time they were happy and they excelled. The school reminds me of the one my oldest daughter, now 24, attended when she was their age. The staff is friendly and helpful... I felt very comfortable going there; kinda like returning home."
"This school means everything to me. I went to this school K-5, my uncle went to this school, and also my brother went K-5. I have long generations going to this school. I love this school pep and there ways of trying to keep our children safe and smart. As I go up to the Middle School I will never forget this amazing school. Many people from long ago might say it was horrible, but we have new and approved staff so don't get it twisted. (Just Kidding about the don't get it twisted part), but yes I would recommend this school to anyone because once your there you won't want to leave."
