Reviews
"This school is a scam. It would be in your best interest to spend your money else where. They will not teach you a single thing and take your money. All of the recent great reviews are fake. They paid everyone is school that day $25 to post something nice."
"I came to Omnitech because they were veteran friendly and an approved school for my employer's tuition assistance program. I loved the fact that they offered an 8 month certification which included vouchers for IT certification tests. When I was told the cost of attendance I did not want to attend because my goal in returning to school was not to take on any more debt. The initial staff members I spoke to informed me that I could apply for a deferred loan which would later be offset by the other sources of funding I had. They assured me that I would be able to use veterans benefits, employer tuition assistance, and scholarship funds to cover a significant portion of my costs. With this assurance I decided to move forward with securing the deferred loan. This was a significant blunder on my part, but you don't know what you don't know and you don't expect an educational institution to be unprofessional and lie by omission. What I wasn't informed of is that the school lost it's VA accredidation in December of 2022, prior to me attending. All of the information available online about the school at that time showed that they were accredited and established. When I went to try and submit my paperwork for veterans benefits I was refused. The school president, Mr. Lester, told me for months that they would get their accredidation back and to just hold on. I also submitted my documents to get tuition assistance in January. I did not find out until halfway into the program the information about the VA and that they had not submitted the documents to get the tuition assistance. I was also being told that because I had other sources of funding that a scholarship would not be applied. This is not what the initial agreement was. At that point in time, I considered withdrawing. Upon reading over school agreements however I discovered that if you complete more than fifty percent of a program and withdraw, the school still holds students accountable for the full cost of tuition. I saw no point in not finishing and still paying so I continued with classes. I finished a majority of the classes outside of 2 other courses that were required to finish. Right before Labor Day they sent us on a break and those who still had classes to take were told they would be in contact about that schedule. That never happened. Next thing I know I'm hearing the school has closed. There was no communication to those of us still waiting to complete classes and receive our certifications. I never received the tuition assistance from my employer because of issues at the school. They had eight months to make sure that was done and still never completed it. They accepted loan funds and did not provide the services that students paid for. For me now it is a waiting game to see what decisions will be made at the state level in order for me to continue my education elsewhere. I am in exactly the situation I wanted to avoid when returning to school, and it is actually much worse. It's one thing to have student debt but have your degree or certification. It's another thing to have student debt and have nothing to show for it and to also know there were ways to diminish it but the correct steps were never taken. My experience was ridiculous and a huge life lesson! This review doesn't even talk about the quality of education they provided either. Five hours a day, five days a week, with half the time spent off topic or reviewing old information because they were constantly bringing in new people in the middle of a session. Having to pay for things out of pocket that should've been covered by tuition. Unorganized classes and schedules with rushed learning or no learning at all. The list goes on! I hope the state and the loan providers do right by the students because Omnitech certainly did not!"
"This school is permanently closed! The last class was on Aug.24, 2023. The VP Ms.Austin came in and announced the school would close for 2 weeks because of an audit conducted. She stated, "They must restructure their staff and reopen Sept. 12, 2023". On Sept. 12, 2023, she sent a text message, that the school would open on Sept.26, 2023, and Mr. Lester had some important information for the students. On Sept.26, 2023, we entered the classroom and most of the computers were gone. Mr Carlos Lester, the owner came in and announced, "The VA had suspended his funding and the private banks did the same, so he would have to close the school down". Since we were attending through the VA VRRAP federally funded education program, he suggested we seek legal action against the VA for not paying our benefits. Our monthly stipend was fractured. Mr. Lester made comments to the effect that he was being discriminated against and that was the reason he was being targeted. He then stated, "They worked out a plan with the state of Georgia to transfer us to a school named United Medical, so we can complete our training." He stated, that all the instructors agreed to continue training us at United Medical". Mr. Lester called the owner of United Medical and put her on speakerphone. They said they would have our transcripts emailed out. Well I was shocked, this program was very expensive, and he received federal funds upfront, then closed the school down. Upon an investigation, the school voluntarily surrendered its accreditation which disqualified it from receiving VRRAP funding. In addition, Mr. Lester was not honest about the closing, the audit was in Mar. 2023, not how they painted it to be. The VA stated the reason students were experiencing non and partial payments from the VRRAP program was due to the school not sending in the school's enrollment. In Dec. 2022 they sent in partial enrollment and dated it until June 2023. The state of Georgia had not agreed to a transfer of students to United Medical, and some of the instructors had not agreed. In addition, some employees were not paid and he blamed the VA. In conclusion, federal funds were misappropriated and something needs to be addressed so this doesn't happen again to anyone."
"I really enjoy this school. There's so much that I've learned attending this school. There's a lot about IT that I never new about, and I can't wait to apply everything that I've learned into a new career The door for opportunity is wide open and the future is bright."
"This school has done its most to make sure I’m prepared and ready to start a career in Information Technology. They take the time to ensure I understand what they’re teaching and does everything in their power to keep their students motivated and on track. I’ve already got my first Cert after a few months and working towards The next!"
