"My two kids attended this school last year. I wouldn’t say that this is a terrible school but I had a bad experience with the kindergarten portion of the school my kindergartner in Ms. Packer’s class attended the graduation and the educators did not acknowledge her nor call her name during graduation this was very disappointing because she is very smart & worked hard all school year also because of Covid we didn’t have preschool graduation so we really looked forward to kindergarten graduation and were excited about that & for them to not call my child’s name during graduation was very upsetting and disappointing and caused me to withdraw my children from the school I was very hurt because of this the school itself was not awful my third grader was here and she had a pretty okay experience but the kindergarten grad experience really took a toll on us and we won’t have those memories to look back on as a kindergarten graduation so for that I would not ever deal with this school again."
"During my time as a student at International Academy of Smyrna was not what I would have liked it to be, there was a lot of great people that I have met there. I was in 5 grade when I left and now going to 8th so they could have changed. It is just that I was bullied most of my time there and non of the staff helped I was in counseling for one of the bullies but other than that I had little to no help. For example there was a time I was drawing and this kid came over to bother me so when he was standing there say for me to move I said no (because they said to stand up for yourself an anti-bullying posters and videos) and I pushed him out of the way then it leads to a fight. What I thought what was going to happen is the kid will beat me up then the after school teacher will tell him to go away, but she see sent me away like I did something bad then the head of the after school program brought me to her office saying stuff like Im going to put this on your permanent record and by the way the kid mom works for the school. I have had many incidence like this one another example is a girl kick me in the balls and I cursed at her and I got in trouble. Not only the people where mean but the food was garbage like there was mold in uncooked food I don't know about now but when I was there everyday people had stomach bugs because of the food. Other then the emotional scarring and garbage food the also misbehaving kids the school is ok. sorry for the very long review I was just making a honest statement of my time in this school."
"I am only giving this school two stars due to the fact that the educators were phenomenal when I attended. After I left this school I notice just how terrible it truly is. The staff was okay. They didn't really care much about people, especially the students. But they loved taking your money. The counseling staff wasn't good either, they would dismiss any problem the students would have and not care much about it. I was apart of one of the last 8th grade classes and out of all the time I spent at that school from 5th-8th I can definitely tell you that they do not prepare you for high school. I know now that they got rid of the middle school but, that is still not an excuse to not educate the next generation better. Get it together, do better. I have a lot more that I could say exposing all the secrets I know about them but, I wont do that because they are under different supervision and have changed. And I am also grown and as a college student I wouldn't want their establishment to seem to bad."
"I have been at this school for 6 years now. I started in kindergarten and now I'm in the fifth grade. I am really sad of the thought that I will leave the school next year. I've had so many good memories here. All the teachers are nice and for any student who thinks they aren't nice, all you have to do is be respectful, responsible, and ready to learn ;That's something they taught me well."
