Golden Start Preschool

"We sent my son to Woodchase for a year and loved it. My wife stopped working when our second child was born, and we tried two other part time preschools for my son searching for something we liked. We finally found it here at Golden Start. Great price and unbelievably caring teachers / faculty. Our second is enrolled this year, and our third will be enrolled when she's old enough. Can't say enough good things about the school"

"If you are looking for a school where the teacher/faculty works with the parents to come up with solutions for your child to grow and thrive, this is not the place for you. My son, 2.5, got expelled from Golden start after being there for less than two months. He wasn't listening well and was pushing. My child isn't perfect by any means and can by trying, but really he is just a pretty normal, rambunctious, 2.5 year old boy. No biting, never hurt anyone, etc. After one meeting letting us know we needed to work on his behavior and then being reassured daily by his teacher that he was improving, the director, Deborah, emailed me to tell me that my son couldn't return. She was "too busy to meet with me in person to tell me." It seems there are much more important things to do at Golden start than meet with the parents of a child they are expelling. If your child has any challenges at all this is not the place for you."

"This is a wonderful preschool and we are so happy to have found it. After nearly three years with another school 15 miles from home, I finally got sick of the drive and wanted to find something close to home. Golden Start had one slot open in a 3 year old class and my son was accepted. We couldn't believe what we were missing! Since he's been at Golden Start my husband and I both remark on the friendliness of the staff and the obvious Christian faith our son is exposed to. Almost immediately he learned to spell his name and proudly spells aloud all the time. They work on reading and math daily in an age appropriate way and we can tell that our child is really learning. They also encourage home based learning by including the parents in the weekly lessons. They also have many group programs for the parents to participate and my son loves to perform. The grandparents especially loved the sweet Christmas program. We had nothing like that at the other school remotely."
