Reviews
"Honest Review! It's not often that I come across educators who truly leave a lasting impression, but the teachers at Tutor Time are nothing short of extraordinary. I would particularly like to highlight Ms. Shaneika Kelly and Ms. Fanieka Crawford for their exceptional commitment and dedication. Shaneika's dedication, teaching qualities, and unparalleled commitment to student welfare convince me that she is more than deserving of a state educational award. Both these educators are always on top of their game, constantly updating the system and ensuring that learning is dynamic and engaging. The leadership under Director Deryl Chandler is commendable. The entire team, including the leaders, are doing an outstanding job, ensuring every student is offered the highest caliber of education. The operations are transparent, which is a testament to their integrity. Having run a preschool in my own country, I have firsthand experience of the level of dedication required to provide high-quality education. Tutor Time surpasses all expectations in this regard. To all the parents out there considering an institution for their children – I wholeheartedly recommend Tutor Time. It could very well be the best school in Atlanta, if not the entire state of Georgia. As for my family and me, we remain committed to our son's education and are confident that under the guidance of Tutor Time, he is on his way to becoming a world-class leader."
"Unprofessional teachers with attitudes. if you have any concerns about your child the teacher will not talk to you. She will send you to talk to someone else instead of showing good faith. As always, a hit dog will holler. Currently looking for a new school hopefully before the school year ends. The cameras also do not work all the time. I don’t play about mine and I don’t put anything past anyone. Hold your teachers accountable for their attitudes to parents who are entitled to ask questions about what is happening in the class room! If your child says something ask about it and never feel ashamed. I’m speaking out because this has been consistent and I have spoken to the school already. The director is helpful but the teachers are truly running it and acting in any manner they want."
"I turned in all necessary paperwork to enroll my child and told the director I would like to schedule a tour before my daughter started school. They only offer virtual tours and you can not enter the school unless your child is a student. The director tried to convince me to bring her in without a tour multiple times (red flag). I scheduled a virtual tour for the following day at 9am and stated that she could start school the day after the tour. The following morning I receive an email that my tour is cancelled. I call only to find out that my tour was cancelled because I did not bring my child for class that day. The director then proceeded to tell me that since I wanted to do a tour before she started school that I could no longer do the tour and that she would find someone else to give her spot to. This seems very odd. Why not let me take the tour and allow her to come to school the following day if the space is available? This is not how a normal daycare/school runs their business. The director was very rude on the phone call, which was a complete 180 from the day before. This showed me all I needed to know!! Please beware of this place. Read all reviews from all sites (google, yelp, etc). There all many other reviews just like mine (school not allowing tours and just wants you to drop your kid off), unsanitary practices, employee retention issues, lack of teaching/structure, rude director/teachers. I will update my review when I find better school/s to help families find a nice place for their little ones."
"So this review should have happened many years ago (a little over 20 years ago to be exact). When I moved to the Smyrna area in the late 1990's, I found this child care center near my apartment. I did not expect much more than what you would normally get in a daycare center but found out this place was a hidden gem. My daughter started at two and (because we moved) left at four. I am not sure they still have the same curriculum as they did then. The parents and children had a calendar that you were suppose to do daily homework from. They also had different sections set up for kids to learn different areas of play and education...such as reading, writing, art, playing with others...etc. By my daughters 3rd birthday, she started reading on her own. The homework gave us both structure so that we were able to continue with it long into her years in school. My daughter has graduated from college with her masters degree and I truly believe part of this was from her early start here and the amazing staff that they had. (I believe her favorite teacher back then was Mrs. White. I hope she is still there!) Anyways, I just happened to come across this daycare, and thought I should write...I guess more of a thank you note to them and a positive review."
"My son went here starting in the baby room in April 2018 all the way until a couple months ago. The director was kind, listened to my concerns, and was genuinely concerned when i brought any issues to her attention. With that being said, i do not think it was the best place for my child. I never would have realized this unless we had not relocated, and I hadn’t had to put him in another facility. Being at a new facility has helped me to see just how little of a curriculum and activities they provided for the children. I really feel like they just “babysat” them for 8 hours and never really engaged the children. My child has speech delays, but as soon as we moved to this new facility, He flourished. I was astounded by his improvement after just being at this new facility for a couple weeks. In addition, I had issues throughout his time there with them not following the feeding schedules and not updating the app. I understand updating an app is low on the priority list, but if you’re going to offer it, you should use it and if it wasn’t documented, it wasn’t done. Also, they would call me to come pick him up for “fevers” all the time, but i would go get him, and he had no fever. I even had the teacher recheck it in front of me, the thermometer showed a temperature of 97, and they still made me keep him out the next day. The curriculum and seeing what my child wasn’t getting is the biggest disappointment i had with Tutor Time. I contemplated even writing this review, because as mentioned previously the director was great, but i wanted other potential parents to see our experience and make their own informed decisions prior to enrolling their children."
