"I loved this school when both my daughters went there. I really wish my youngest one could go back there since my older one's in middle school now. Both of them had excellent teachers who I really appreciated. Didn't have any bullying incidents like I've dealt with this year at the schools they attended this year. I'm hoping and praying I find a place back in that area so they can go to the schools in that area."
"Great school. Phenomenal teaching staff. My son has been in attendance here since 1st grade :). Nothing but wonderful things to say about this school and the administration."
"This school has a few good teachers so I don't want to degrade the excellent service they give to the school. Some of the teachers that I have encountered and have overheard really need disciplinary actions against them. The way some of the teachers at Seaborn Lee Elementary School speak to the children is absolutely deplorable and completely unacceptable and they should be ashamed of themselves! They degrade the students and call them names, they speak to the students very disrespectfully in any kind of inappropriate tone they choose to and wonder why the children speak to them disrespectfully. They SHOULD BE the role models. They have no control over the students and would prefer to write them up, suspend and punish them rather than explore potential reasons for the children learning curve disability or behavioral issues. This is the behavior of a school who says they focus on highlighting the positive to improve behaviors of children. Someone needs to improve the behavior of these teachers. I have even heard of a few instances where teachers felt as though they had authority to discipline students physically. This behavior is absolutely unacceptable and should by no means be tolerated. Please talk you your children regarding their day to day experience at this school and be heavily involved because these teachers have also been known to lie at times to cover their own backs."
"This school is great when it comes to academics! There were learning activities that I tried to teach my son at home and we could not master it... he came home from school mastering my projected goals above and beyond, plus more! Mrs. Geathers (Principal) stands in front of the cafeteria and greets all parents and students EVERY morning, so she is very approachable. She quickly addressed my concern, along with Ms. Parks. They are the best!!! OAN: This is a Title 1 school, so there are some kids with behavior issues. Some of the staff have been there too long and do not like the idea of changing for the better... just like every other job/school system! *I checked my son in everyday and had lunch with him a couple of times. #tryit :)"
"The new principal does not interact with parents, she's not seen very much. Since Dr. Massey left the school has gone down. The professionalism, uniform policy-almost dead, the expectations of the school seem to have diminished. However some of the older teachers and staff that have been there is still keeping it professional and love their job and the students. My child has had so many students in and out of her class this year along its a shame. Most of the students that started with her all are going to other schools next year. We need a new principal with some gumption and bring the quality level of the school back up."
