"Very disappointed with the quality of this practice. I have a prescription for Prozac. SSRI's are not supposed to be quit cold turkey as it can have negative side effects. Upon learning I had run out of refills, I contacted the office to get my prescription renewed. I was told it had been 5 months since my last office visit, so I would need to schedule a visit. The first available appointment was three weeks away. No problem, standard procedure is to do a one time refill to carry the patient over until they have their appointment. That's not what happened here. The lady in the office instead told me I would just have to wait. After explaining that this isn't a medication you are supposed to quit cold turkey, her stance was unchanged. She said I ran out of refills in November "So where have you been getting your medication? " As if to say " Well you already quit cold turkey so we don't need to give you a refill." I explained that the pharmacy had been refilling my prescriptions, and only now had just run out. Her response was "Well you must have had left over refills." Okay, that's fine, but it doesn't change the fact that I'm out of medication, and it's not a good idea to wait 3 weeks for a refill. After going back and forth a few times, she finally revealed "Well we CAN do a one time refill, but it's a $25 dollar fee, and it's at the doctor's discretion." Naturally, I asked why this option hadn't been offered to me at the beginning. Her answer was " I have a general concern." Now Prozac doesn't have any recreational uses. It's not Xanax or anything like that. There are no black market Prozac dealers. It's an anti- depressant. And being as there are negative effects of quitting cold turkey, the general concern obviously wasn't my well being. The worst part is, it's not like I didn't want to make an appointment . I was happy to come in today tomorrow or any other day. This is a mental health practice. They deal with people who NEED their medications. To go without can be a much bigger deal than just my going cold turkey from Prozac. Thankfully I'm in a position to find another practice and get my meds without too much trouble, but for others this poor level of treatment could be far more dire. They really come off like they're concerned with fees first and treatment second. To be clear I have always paid on time. I have full insurance etc. Fees weren't an issue, they just seem to be the only thing they're concerned about. I'm switching to a different practice . I strongly suggest if you're considering this practice, that you look elsewhere ."
"I have been a patient here for over a decade. With the help and guidance of Dr. Shroff and his team of providers, I have gone from having severe difficulties, to maintaining a level of stability. The office staff has changed over the years, but I have always received prompt replies to any calls or emails that I have made. If it hadn’t been for the support and trust of Happy in the early years of being a patient, I wouldn’t have been able to continue my treatments. There have been changes in some of the providers over the years. I have felt that anytime I worked with a different provider, they did look at my history prior to and during my appointments. Having been seen for many years and all of the different medications tried, I feel that it is important for providers to pay attention to that type of thing; it is nearly impossible for a patient to remember every medication tried and what side effects there may or may not have been. I have learned many skills to assist with my conditions in addition to finding the right combination of medications. I was also introduced to a therapist recommended by Dr. Shroff that I have continued to work with. Overall, my experience with this office has been very helpful and positive."
"I have been working with Counselor Sean Kirkland for most of 2023 for Sleep Therapy for Insomnia. I am happy to report that I am now sleeping better than I have in years. Sean is very nice, understanding, and is a great listener. His experience and insights and suggestions have been most helpful. I strongly recommend Sean Kirkland and GA Psychiatry and Sleep for treatment of Sleeplessness/Insomnia. There is help found here."
"My needs are fully taken care of each time I meet with a clinician or doctor at GA Psychiatry and Sleep. The front desk staff are always friendly and helpful. So glad that I found such a convenient and high quality provider so close to home!"
"I have found that this practice meets all my needs. They are team of professionals that listen to your concerns and help you to address them individually. They are patient and take the time to listen. My tele-appointments or in-person appointments are always on time and there is little to no wait time to be seen. Dr. Shroff and his team of Nurse Practitioners work as a great team."
