"Great clinic! People listened to my mother-in-law, treated her with respect, and did everything great. We are very satisfied and recommend this clinic to everyone."
"Lab services: No one is explaining anything to me. The first place I went 4500 Hospital Blvd. Suite 120 the lady seemed to be having an extra bad day and barely spoke. She took my blood work just fine but I also needed to do a stool sample, and she didn’t have a hat so she told me to just pick it up out of the toilet. I’m pretty sure that makes the sample invalid. She also didn’t have the breath test I was supposed to do so told me to go somewhere else. Which led to the ladies at Avalon health Park being confused because it had shown that I was already at a different place. They gave me the stool sample kit with hat- a completely different container then the first one- and then sat me down to do the breath test. Unfortunately no one explained the breath test to me that there was a disgusting liquid involved and that I could not speak after it until I was partway through my first sip. I immediately said ew thats disgusting, invalidating the test. I ended up declining to finish the test because I was so grossed out by the liquid. But if the person had explained the test to me before I had started- including the drink, no talking, etc. I could’ve better prepared myself, instead of explaining what needed to happen halfway through it. Even when she directed me to breathe in and out I was confused, because am I not already breathing? She had to give me different breathing directions for the test 3 times. Could she not have just said breath through your nose and out through your mouth the first time? The lab ladies also directed me to the bathroom outside in the reception area for the stool sample, but there was restroom in the lab area itself. Maybe that part is a misunderstanding on my end but the problem is that no one has been clear, no one has explained anything, and everyone seems extraordinarily grumpy about everything. No one has explain how I’m supposed to get the stool sample to them either how fresh does it have to be – like can I go in the morning, leave the sample in my car all day and then or do I have to bring it relatively quickly? Two Wellstar labs and two really terrible experiences with any sort of lack of explaination. The receptionist ladies were really nice and told me to post here."
"Watch out their billing. I had an appointment for yearly check up for my 16 yrs old boy who is perfectly healthy and normal. They said $300 max for the check up when i made an appointment. When i got there they asked me to pay the amount in front. Then they billed me over $600. Since my insurance is little different and wanted to pay with credit card as cash plan. Still trying to get this situation resolved. There was nothing special at the check up and nobody informed me the bill will be doubled up than the estimate and the payment at the office. It was like somebody put things i did not want in my cart and force me to pay which is so so not fair."
"Visited Avalon Wellstar urgent care today. I was able to make an appointment and was seen in a timely manner. From the reception person ( didn’t catch his name) to RN Melissa and Dr Jethwa, I was treated with respect and genuine concern. They listen closely to everything I said. I would highly recommend this facility"
