"Came here for brunch with two friends for the first time in December, as an out of town foodie. It's an okay spot! The food was pretty good. Overall it wasn't super memorable or amazing but the spot was cute. Let's get into the specifics: -Located on a busy street, you may have trouble finding parking, but we parked right across the street in a parking lot that said restricted so, it was risky doing that lol. There is limited street parking. -They are somewhat affordable! I got the classic, which was $14.75, and is their Crispy Fried Chicken breasts and Belgian Waffles with house syrup and vanilla butter. I really liked the flavor of the chicken, the syrup and butter were good too! I also got orange juice and fruit on the side. My total was $32 including automatic 18% gratuity. Pretty pricey for what we got. We went at a good time, it wasn't crowded at all. Now that I think about it, it wasn't a ton of food and the food was served on like this compostable carton. It felt very casual but if they were more intentional on how the food was served, I think it would make a better, lasting impression on customers. -Service was good, pleasant. Pretty lowkey, since once you order, they bring you your food. We didn't wait long for that. Other people at my table got the dirty bird and the Georgia peach. They liked it! -We paid for our food and the gratuity first, which is a bit different. I don't like that it was automatic since it didn't feel like the servers did a whole lot, it was only 3 of us, and it was automatically 18%. Not to be cheap, but I think giving customers a choice and paying staff a livable wage is the best combo tbh. -If you struggle with being indecisive, there aren't a lot of choices and options, so you won't feel overwhelmed with a large menu. Really, they only had 4 things on their menu when we went. I think if they could round it out to 5, that would be amazing! I wonder, do they still do salmon croquettes? I didn't see it on their menu when I went. -Anywho, I probably wouldn't go back and i don't really recommend them. The waffles were like a kids size. On another note, the chairs were very uncomfortable too. I love that it's black owned, but they could make some improvements. I think I need to go to their other main location. This seems like more of a to go spot, and the other location is the more full service restaurant. Disappointing!"
"From the time you walk in the security is at the door waiting to open the door for you and give you some instructions . The staff was very friendly and very helpful. And the chicken was cooked perfectly. I haven't had such a good piece of chicken in a long time. The waffles were delicious as well . I ordered the classic and my partner had the sweet heat chicken and waffles."
"Employees are awesome and friendly. We tried everything on the menu, and it was all great. Their gravy is absolutely one of my favorite things now, and they even had fresh fruit. Their black coffee was bolder than I care for, but still very good."
"First thing’s first… the food tastes incredible. So, what’s the problem? Unfortunately, there are many. I have been here many times, and have enjoyed the food every time, but my recent visit had too many issues for me to recommend this spot anymore… The first being the parking. The street parking is questionable to say the least. You can either pay a meter/app to be up on the Main Street near the restaurant, or park for free on the very sketchy side street. The problem with the free option is that it’s right down the block from a pretty large encampment, and the street has car window glass everywhere. Definitely doesn’t make me feel very confident in parking there. The next issue, and probably the biggest, was at the register. Their prices have always been pretty extreme, but they changed their tipping since I was last here. Now, they apply an 18% gratuity right up front. It’s not immediately apparent that they did this, either. Then, they ask for ANOTHER tip at the end. I hadn’t realized it until it was too late, but they had basically tricked me out of a nearly 30% tip. For two people to get an entree, and a couple drinks, I just can’t justify that costing almost $75. On top of that, they don’t even give you real silverware or plates (except for the trio, which isn’t written on the menu). It leaves a bad taste in my mouth getting conned out of a huge tip, paying way too much money in general, all to receive a cheap packet with plastic cutlery in it. The TLDR: The prices and shady tipping nonsense are just too much to justify going here, even if the food is delicious."
"Hands down the best chicken & waffles I’ve had in ATL! (& I’ve had a lot) Every time I visit my parents I absolutely have to stop by. From the recipes, to the ambiance, down to customer service I have absolutely no complaints about this place. I can’t even pick my favorite dish because they’re all BOMB. A great place to bring visitors or settle in with your laptop & get some work done. Keep it up!"
