"Humble little restaurant with a lot of flavor. You will be able to smell the goodness of what's inside from the street - it was almost intoxicating. It's a small dining area, but the locals who were dining reassured me that I was making the right choice in coming there - even recommended their favorite dishes, which are reasonably priced. I ended up ordering the pulled pork platter, black beans and rice, plantains with a small salad consisting of lettuce and tomato. That was the best I've ever had, hands down and for the price, I walked away with an overflowing to-go platter. In turn, I happily overate and will be returning sooner than later."
"Being from South Florida, I had been looking for good Cuban food since moving here in 2006. I found this place a few years ago, but had forgotten about it until I took my car to be serviced at the Porsche service center down the street from it, so I figured I'd grab some food while I was there. I always get the grilled chicken breast with onions served with the rice, beans, and And plantains. The food never disappoints and is always amazing! The chicken is cooked to perfection, with hints of citrus and island flavors that pair well with the rice. I cut it up and mic the rice and beans with it to eat it like a bowl. For $16, you get more than enough to satisfy you and fill you up. As for the reviews about the owner's poor attitude, I say, try talking to her. I've made small talk with her each time I'm there, and have come to find she is pretty down to earth and friendly. I'm always telling her she needs to open a door in Fayetteville down by me because her food is so good. I recommend giving this place a try if you are ever looking for authentic Cuban food. It's the best I've had in Atlanta."
"So... we were in Atlanta looking at houses and stopped for take out. Now, we can't move here because we'd end up eating at Mami's every day. Wait! Is that a bad thing? Maybe an added reason TO move back. The food has been consistently authentic since the beginning. The family atmosphere is really. Homey Comfortable REAL"
"Babae!!!! This was good! I took a gamble and won! I went on a Friday and the lunch special was the Chicken Fricasse. Everything was hot and seasoned well. It came with rice, black beans, fried plantain, bread, and a mini salad for $10! Well worth it! The lady at the front was super nice. It’s a little hole in the wall so expect the little things that comes with that but the food and service delivered!"
